running boards or not?

so It's only a few days away and I can't decide if I want the running boards or not.. I feel like with the AMG appearance package they look good but do they do their job? they look pretty tiny from the pics I have seen ( which aren't many). if anyone has them I would love your input , and if anyone has photos of them on an AMG package glk I'd love to see them. thanx in advance

Not. Maybe on a ML or GL, but on a GLK, they look like clunky bolt-ons. Well, unless you're 5ft or smaller and need a step up... seriously bro, save your money...

Ditto. Not. On anything.
Get the lighting package with that money. The lights are useful.

Sorry. Your GLK is built. Ok, get mud flaps. They keep your GLK clean, shed rocks, etc., actually do some good.

Get these side sills instead. You can buy each component separately from Brabus. Just my 2 cents.

2012 GLK 350
I got em and I love em

I ordered the running boards from my dealer and installed them myself- I think they look fantastic. While you don't need them for adults, my five-year-old definitely uses it to get in and out and it should help save some wear and tear on the interior door threshold.

They certainly don't look "bolt-on" as another describer posted- if installed correctly they fit seamlessly with the contours of the car, including the front and rear fender wells.

GLK 350
If you have children (younger than 10) I would recommend them. The standard boards are pretty beaten/scratched up from stones that are wedged in my kids shoes and then they side down the boards getting in and out of the SUV.

Depends on what you define as their job.

I considered them as a way to ease getting into and out of the vehicle, but everything I have heard and read says they actually make both harder so I decided against them.

All they do on the GLK is soil your trousers. Skip 'em.

true! i tested this before i ordered by glk on the dealer and my wife who wears mini skirts all the time told me not to get it because she has to "open wide her legs" to reach the ground LOL! if you guys are worried about scratching the plastic trim below install a heavy 3m transparent film on along the trim and off you go. buy it on ebay in rolls.
