Bought a 2013 GLK
I'm super happy with my purchase of the 2013 GLK 350. I had a 2011 c300 and a 2011 GLK 350, and switching to the 2013 was a world of a difference. I'm super excited about the differences. I was getting an average of 27mpg in a 50 mile trip, most of it highway though, but still really impressive compared to my 19mpg average with my 2011. I really don't expect it to stay that high, but it was just an initial observation. If you're on the fence about switching, I highly recommend you drive one!

Are you updating models every 2 years?

Seemingly any/all gains in fuel economy are lost in depreciation.
My 2011's $49,800 sticker would be lucky to fetch $30,000 on trade, less than 22 months after it was sold new.

A good looking ride! The running boards are growing on me & might consider a set. The
Appearance Package wheels are much better than the standard wheels. You mentioned elsewhere (I think) that you bought this used or am I mistaken?

Thanks for the compliments guys! I actually did purchase it used from a 73 year old gentleman. I got a smoking deal on it, one I couldn't refuse! He purchased the GLK for 60k a few months ago, and listed it after 1500 miles because he decided he wanted a SLK instead. He listed it for 53k, and it was for sale for a couple of weeks and the ad expired. I had emailed him while the ad was still active asking him for pictures, and he kept my contact info. Long story short, I asked him what his bottom dollar was, and he said he would do 46k. I listed my 2011 GLK for $32k (which was $1000 less than any within a 500 mile radius at the time) and I got a TON of bottom feeders, people were offering me 21-27k for it. I told the guy I was going to hold off until I got a better offer, unless he was willing to drop it even more, in which case I would settle for a lowball. Well sure enough, he said he would take 43k, and I got a low offer of $28,500 from a dealer that wanted to buy my car outright, so I let it go to them and bought this GLK with literally every possible option for 43k privately, which means no tax in AZ. It hasn't even had the protective plastic stickers on the interior peeled off yet. For the price and only 1500 miles, it was worth avoiding a dealer purchase ( which I already had in the works).

Another reason to love the state of AZ. Sales tax in Tucson runs around 7.5% or a little higher on vehicle purchases from dealers BUT not on private sales! Discovered this fact when we bought our garage queen '01 Z3 Roadster from a private party. Congratulations on the smokin' deal!

I believe this is the AMG styling package and not the Appearance package, though (these aren't the appearance package wheels, and the front lip is AMG style).

It sure is! I really enjoy it! I honestly don't notice the ECO mode unless my radio is off. Sometimes what I do notice though, when I pull into the garage and stop, if the car shuts off with ECO mode while I'm still in Drive, it will turn back on the second I press the Park button. Which gets annoying because the engine quickly turns on and quickly turns off because immediately after I press park, I turn the car off. I wish it would stay off when pressing the park button! My wife says if you don't hold the brake pedal down harder (meaning be light on it when you are stopped and idling) that it won't shut off, but I haven't tested it yet to see for myself.

Your wife is correct, i have no complaints about the start-stop feature and i control when i want to stop the motor by adjusting my brake pedal pressure just before i come to a complete stop. I really like the HOLD feature as well and it is very useful at l long standing red lights and in heavy traffic. Its a great feature when you know how to use it.
