That said - if it was me - I would plan for a 50K tranny service if you choose not to extend the new car warranty (called ELW) past the original 4yrs/50K miles.
Especially with trannies - it's better to be proactive with maitenance going into non-warranty land, than to be sorry/expensive later.
Yes - the 7G+ is smoother and quieter than - see attached tech/paper PR

I could not find the transmission service in "MY14_Maintenance_Booklet.pdf" and MB website calls it "7-speed automatic transmission".
The pdf file lists only E, R, S and CL class...
All 2013 GLK's have 7G+, or have you not kept up-to-date on the 2013 GLK tech spec's ?
7G+ is what has allowed implementation of Eco in the GLK350, and frankly one of the main reasons 2013 owner's find both the GLK350 and GLK250 a bit more peppey, and a heck of a smoother driver than 2010-2012's ..
Also so that you know, specifically on the GLK350 since the prepaid maintenance program for GLK350 was not updated to reflect the '13 changeover to 7G+ - with required maintenance at 70K rather than 40K - at this moment makes the 30K GLK350 prepaid maitenance program the best value.. and 40K, 40K+ maintenance packages not as attractive - too high of price. Buy one 30K pack - then get a 2nd pack to carry you thru 40-50-60 which you can buy aftr 30K and before 40K service..
Do you own google 2013 GLK350 7G+ (7G Plus) and you can confirm, or ask a competent MB sales consultant or competent service advisor ... whatever... it's not so hard, but most aren't aware of the importance of the 7G+ tranny design.. mandated due to Euro going mandatory on Eco in 2015 for all Euro brands..
