*Sneak Peek* 22" Vossen CV3

So I picked up a set of 22" Vossen CV3 wheels for cheap and temporarily thru them on the GLK for fitment checks. Because there is very little real world info on running 22s on the GLK (mostly speculation or lack of specs from what i found) I wanted to document my specs for anybody else looking to upgrade.

Vossen CV3 Matte Black / Machined Face
22 x 9
Offset ET 38
BP 5x114.3 (used "wobble bolts" to fit them to the 5x112 GLK)

Currently they came with 245/30ZR22 Hankooks which are way to small for the GLK fender wells IMO but I wanted to post a picture for the time being for reference. I'm currently torn between running a 265/30ZR22 (identical overall diameter as the stock 235/45ZR20s) or a 265/35ZR22 (more meat on tires, fills the fender wells better, but 3.4% larger overall = less mpg, more rolling mass, more wear and tear, possible rubbing).

On to the "teaser pic"

I'll be sure to add more pics and info once I make my tire selection.

The larger wheels have already produced: "less mpg, more rolling mass, more wear and tear..." Not only that, but isn't the ride ruined? I don't see the point in putting massive wheels on a GLK unless you are just showing off, which I still don't understand. I think it would be a good time to sell them, make a profit and get 18" or 19" with some weather specific tires and call it done.

And now I remember why I don't post on this forum. Nobody cares about info on your stock Mercedes or your unwillingness to modify it. I posted the specs for those interested in doing so, you're obviously not interested in stepping outside the box so keep your post elsewhere. Your post adds no value, and I'd appreciate this thread not getting whored up with useless conservative comments.

I actually don't even have my Mercedes, yet. I was pointing out that your concerns about fuel economy and wear and tear are already happening with your set-up. No reason to get hostile or abusive.

My wife went with 20x8.5. I believe she's running 245/40/20 all around. I would have liked a bigger wheel but then the lower profile becomes an issue. Unfortunately in So Cal with the economy the last number of years, all road maintenance is few and far between leaving potholes a common place occurrence. The risk of wrecking a wheel is all too likely.

I like that you have gone beyond stock. The stock 20s that your GLK came with are nice, but this set up makes you an individual.
