2014 GLK250 Continued Issues - BEWARE
Unfortunately, having a new car in the shop for month is not my idea of the kind of car or company that I want to develop a continuing relationship with. I am starting the paperwork to declare the GLK250 a LEMON!!!!!!!
How is it that "almost the same car in 2013" has good reviews? What happened to so drastically change the car reliability?
It seems that MB can roll out new cars by the thousands...but not take ownership/properly service those cars that have already been sold.
I plan to start another search for 2014 (non-MB) car. I was hesitant (but hopeful) when I bought the GLK250...turns out MB does not provide the kind of support that I thought...especially when paying $50,000+.

One of the other threads on the subject indicated a fix coming from Germany that was software. I just wonder if you continued driving it if you'd be able to start the engine when the warning hit the limit.

There have been reports posted on forums, likely this one, where a fix came from Germany in 2 or 3 days. In that short a time it can't be anything but software.

Mine is being built this week and I'm really hoping they fixed it by now.
UPDATE -
I received the new car experience survey after purchasing the 2014 GLK250. I documented the problems with check engine light and Ad Blue, remaining starts on the survey (sent to me by e-mail) and finally got a follow-up call from MB survey team. The survey team had a MB case worker call me to discuss the problem.
The case worker called up my information so she could understand the situation. She said she had never heard of the problem and that other case workers that she is working with were also not familiar with the problem. Apparently, the issue has not be elevated to a status where case workers are informed about issues like ours!
She reitterated that a fix could not be expected before the end of the month (earliest!). She also said that if any of you are experiencing the same problem that I have, you should contact the case work number at 1-800-367-6372 (her extension is 6328) - but other case workers can also take your calls.
The issues with the new cars need to be documented at the case worker level so the issues get addressed and they can look/identify the significance of the issue. I urge all of you to call. Unfortunately - the squeaky wheel gets the grease". I hate having to take so much time in order to get problems addressed.
. I will be happy to say good things (hopefully) later...but not being able to drive your own new car for 4 weeks...but having to pay for it ....is not my idea of a great service and car experience.
Had a shifting issue, hanging gears etc.. they reset the programming on my last service and since then its been flawless.
Only issue I am fighting them on is the brakes. At 17K they sqeek a lot. First it was only early morning but lately its all the time... they tried explaining to me that its the kind of brakes exclusive to MB, but its BS... my Acura's and Fords previous never made a sound until they were almost done.
But I just did that twice to my E-Class after installing new pads and rotors. Noise goes away, but is soon back.
What has changed, is that the newer OE (and some aftermarket) rotors have a zinc coating. My theory is that as the coating wears off, it builds up on pads and you now have something different than we used to have. My pads, after a few weeks use, now have a metallic silver sheen. Never saw that in past. They only squeal at low speeds. It is a little annoying, but nothing to worry about.
