Identify this an opening in the grille of 2014 GLK250

Please identify this an opening in the grille of my 2014 GLK250.
As you can see in the pictures the location is at front right side of the grille below the lights.

I believe that's where the towing hook goes in. There's a similar point on the rear. Mine is an AMG so it's a bit different. That tow hook should be with your other tools in the rear compartment.

Mine has AMG package so there is also a cover on bumper, but the cover is different to this one.

Correct. That's because his isn't an AMG. Yours and mine are and they ARE different, but they still do the same thing on both.

Be Prepared...

Would you settle for this? A readily available tow hook option for a quick hook 'n tow out of a snow bank:

Bob,

Yes, but this has the "Cool" factor. At least until it gets a good coating of road salt and rust on it. And at my age I'll take all the cool I can get!

LOL & Merry Christmas,

Jim

Merry Christmas,
Jim
I believe the owner's manual states the tow hook is only for "standard" towing and not for any type of pulling out of a ditch etc.
