Newbie: Thoughts on Pre-owned 2014 GLK250

Hi all,
I am a newbie to this X204 Forum and need your collective GLK advice/thoughts. I am considering purchasing a 2014 GLK250 for my 82-year-old mom. I had her drive a GLK250 which she likes...it is easy for her to get into and out of, as well as having good outward visibility. The car I am considering has 72K miles and two previous owners--asking price is $19.9K.
It is Lunar Blue metallic with Sahara Beige/Mocha leather interior and the following options:
- P1 package
- Sport package
- Driver assistance
- Park assist
- Lighting package
- Multi-media package
- Harmon Kardon
- KeylessGo
- Ambient lighting package
- Side running boards
- Heated front seats
- Illuminated front side sills
- Underseat storage for driver and front passenger

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and insights.

I maybe off topic a bit. My drive side door got rear ended by a 90 years old lady when she was backing out from a parking spot. I was lucky enough to caught the incident before she took off. Long story short, i let her go at the end. I didn't reported her and I still think i should, it just i don't have the heart to do it to a old lady. I honestly dont think she should be driving anymore at that age. I am not saying don't buy the vehicle for your mom, it just sometimes maybe cheaper and safer to call uber or taxi than for her to continue to drive. That just my 2 cents, no hard feelings.

Thanks for sharing your experience. No insult taken. She is actually a fairly careful and astute driver. She's been incident free thus far. She currently drives a 2017 W213 but finds the visibility to be quite poor--her prior car was a 2017 C450 AMG which was too low for her to get in and out of. She likes the upright driving position of the W222 but finds it to be a little too long and that of the Range Rover L405 full-size but struggles to climb into it. Ubers and Lyfts are few and far between here in rural Connecticut.

that is literally fully loaded... except for 360 degree camera, tow package, and heated steering wheel. quite a good deal if you can accept less than stellar reliability.

Thank you JohnnyC. I forgot to mention that this GLK does have the Tow Package. The 360 Surround View package would have been great, however, it appears that option became available in 2015 based on MBUSA DOG and 2014 X204 catalog. The dealership (an official Toyota store) includes a "Drive Forever" limited lifetime engine and transmission warranty--I am unsure how effective that will be. Additionally, the dealership offered a 3.49% APR (2.99% with autopay) for 60-month financing.

Unfortunately, that won't cover the emissions system which includes the DPF, the DEF tank and associated sensors, the NOx sensors and a host of other gizmos that tend to go bad on these cars over time.

My advice: direct her towards an equally optioned GLK350 gasser. Nearly bulletproof, many more available and nothing complicated except maybe the 4Matic system (transfer case) that is sometimes questionable. But that warranty would cover it, no?

Thanks Andre, definitely a serious consideration between the gasser and the diesel.
