Rims + Wheels question
Dear Forum users,
I have a question for you. My car has 235/45 R20 tires on its 20 inch oem wheels.
I found a nice deal from a user that is selling winter tires 255/45 R18 and OEM 18 inch MB Wheels but he doesn't know the wheel size.
This is the photo of the rim, he bought them for his 2007 S550.
My question is, do you think they'll fit my 2010 GLK 350 4matic?

No it wont fit. your biggest issue is the 255 part and the ratio (45). You can go max 245mm wide on steering tyres before colliding with itself. the ratio is also not suitable for any type GLK. You also need to account for load rating, the tyres may not be able to withstand the heavy vehicle + towing a trailer + occupants.
You can view the owner's manual for helpful tyre sizing or online. Typically 17", 19", or 20" are common; 18" and 21" are uncommon but can be equipped.

Sounds Crazy But Go Walmart
I don’t believe those tires will fit. Unless you’re specifically looking for high-end tires, Antares Ingens A1 are like $87/tire at Walmart and have been working really well for my GLK 350. Tons of great reviews from people using them for Mercedes, BMW, and other high end cars. Check it out.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Check out tire performance reviews at places like Tire Rack. A cheap set of snow tires might be worse than a premium set of all season tires. I went with Michelin premiers, which ourperform factory tires by a wide margin in all respects, cheap tires could be a real set back.

Despite inputting my vehicle info none of the apparent rim-matches acount for the vehicles' axle loads. Or I've misunderstood how one arrives at the rim loading?
Some forums indicate it's 0.5*GVWR which for my 2015 glkBT would be 0.5*5512# or 2756# which is much higher than any of the max loads I'm seeing for the rims on the sites mentioned above.
Some forums indicate it's 0.5*GVWR*0.5 as each wheel is distributing half the axle load which for my vehicle would be 0.5*5512#*0.5 or 1387#. However that logic doesn't make sense unless you never intend to apply dynamic forces like... taking a sharp turn.
So I'm curious what people are assuming for the rim loading? Or are folks just using the stock wheel load and assuming it's roughly equivalent to the rim load?
For my glk that would be 235/50r19, 99h or 1709# which seems closer to the numbers I'm seeing on the sites.
It would be convenient if someone had an oem spec sheet with rim dimensions and loads.

Ok found another set.
ît is from a b250
205/50/r17s
i did some searching and apparently they are 6.5Jx17 ET49 wheels
centerbore, bolt size and patterns match
would it fit my 2010 glk?
