2013 GLK 250 P2006 intake manifold control runner stuck

Hi Everyone,
I was driving (2013 GLK 250) the other day and this error code popped up. P2006 intake manifold control runner stuck bank 1. I've looked online and they sell repair kits for this error but only for v6 engines. I can't find anything on the GLK 250 with this error code. Does anyone know how to repair this on the GLK 250 or how much it would cost to repair at a shop? Thanks!

Funny story, my ml350 bluetec intake manifold just recently broke. Lucky i have a really good mechanic, he helped to me modify the swirl flap to open position, retune the vehicle so there will not be any cel. My car is still in the shop since i am getting my dpf scr egr delete as well. Just to fix the swirl flaps, my mechanic quoted me $1000? i cant remember the exact number, but he informed me it very labour intense to get to the intake manifold. It may be different story for glk250.

The 3.0L V6 Bluetec is a lot more complicated to get access to things, so I can understand the labor charges.

The 2.1L I4 Bluetec is probably easier to access and service, but the P2006 code isn't a common one that I've heard on these engines.

Removing the engine cover is easy enough though, so if you can take a peek under there and look closely at the intake manifold, that'd be where I'd start. There are swirl flaps inside the manifold that open and close as directed by the ECU. If/when the flap motor fails, you may get this CEL and code. From my reading, the flap motor fails so that the flaps are stuck open, so it shouldn't really result in anything negative apart from the engine light being on.

If you have a trusted Indy shop to take a look at it they might be able to confirm this. Hopefully they (or you) have a MB specific scan tool.

The default position for the flap motor is close since it spring loaded, unless there is excessive amount of carbon built up to prevent it close. The intake manifold is located on the right side of the engine under egr valve. There are few video online that people took apart the intake manifold to clean it. If you can get a mechanic to modify the swirl flap to stay open or remove it completely, that probably alot cheaper than replace the intake manifold since the parts itself it like $1300 cad. MB will probably want at least 2k for it

Check this video out. It not that complicated to get to the intake manifold, but i can see the shop at least charge u few hours of labor for it

I stand corrected, thanks.

Edit: in case you just want to slap a new intake manifold on there, here's one for $530 link.

Thanks everyone!,
The error code comes and goes. I like to try and do things myself whenever i can, but i like detailed instructions on how to do it so i don't accidentally break something else and learn the hard way. I've been looking everywhere for how to remove the manifold! Thanks so much for the video, I would've never found it since it's in Korean. After watching the video, it doesn't look too hard to remove the manifold, so i think i'm gonna go that route and clean out the manifold and hopefully that will fix the issue. Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

how many miles/km does your GLK have? Im curious to know how it looks when you take your apart. Maybe cleaning should be done at 100k or whatever.

The video in the earlier posts tells you how to take out the easy part. Then at 45 seconds it skips passed the hard part and magically removes the manifold ... I tried to remove the EGR Cooler but looked to complicated without an actual manual. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

I need help removing the EGR component. If you can share that would be great. I would purchase the manual but after this repair it's going back up for sale. This vehicle has been nothing but problems for me. I like the way it looks and drives but i'm over it lol. Thanks!

I didn't open it up and clean it. It just went away on its own. It's been about a couple weeks now, hopefully it stays that way haha...

2015 GLK 250 BlueTec with AMG Sport package.
2015 GLK250 with 90,000kms... It's been a few weeks of well below 0C overnight and after one of the cold starts I got a "Pending" P200A code with OBD scan mode in my iCarsfot MBII scanner. It seems to be related to the intake flaps, similar to P2006 code. CEL wasn't triggered yet though. Neither I can detect a rough idle on a cold start or degraded performance. I haven't removed the intake yet for cleaning... will keep an eye on it for now.

Any other scanner I can use to diagnose this code further? ...besides buying STAR equipment
