2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 4-matic
Creating my own Winter Wheel / Tire Combination
I'm looking to protect the 20" wheels and tires on my 2015 GLK350 4-matic.
I want to buy aftermarket wheels to put on in the winter months and want to make sure that I've covered all of my bases before moving forward. I'm looking for any and all knowledge that I should know before I move forward?
Including:
I want to buy aftermarket wheels to put on in the winter months and want to make sure that I've covered all of my bases before moving forward. I'm looking for any and all knowledge that I should know before I move forward?
Including:
- Can I purchase 18" wheels to use in the Winter? or do I have to keep them 20"?
- Do I have to get new sensors for the new wheels?
- Are there certain tires that I have to buy or can I go with something more cost-effective?

The answer to all your questions will be on www.tirerack.com
Select -2 as the optional wheel size and see what you find.
You will need to decide whether to get new TPMS on the new rims, or not and just live with the low tire light being on for the duration of the winter season.

The tire you will need is a 215-65-17
You do not need TPMS sensors since the GLK does not have sensors in the wheel to detect air pressure. The GLK uses wheel speed sensors to detect the discrepancies between wheels.

As a "blanket statement" that's incorrect.

I own 2013 glk 250 and 2013 ml350 bluetec and they both don't have individual tpms for since it a Canadian versions. From what i understand, all diesel version in Canada don't have individual tpms, which is an awesome thing.
