I forgot to follow up. I did buy a package of three earth magnets and placed them strategically on the inspection cover in the area of the oil pickup tube.
I'm thinking after we put on 500-1,000 miles, I'll drain oil, remove the inspection cover to see if the wheel is there

I have put almost 1,000 miles on it, with zero hint of side effects, which includes city streets, highway miles, and "get on the throttle to pass" at highway speed.
I'll need to order the inspection cover bolts before I remove it at the next oil change - they are supposed to be replaced at every plate removal, but I reused them when I bolted it back up.
