Moose is almost 10 years old, just past 130K miles and has 2 more more years of AEM warranty left. He owes us nothing but keeps going like the solid little tank he is. Still delivers 36 MPG average and doesn't punish my back on long drives, has great visibility all around, rides quietly and swallows luggage easily. Being a tinkerer, I decided to give him a nose job. It was between the AMG GTR look grill or the diamond mesh look grill. Thoughts? AMG GTR grill off eBay
Thanks, yeah I agree a chrome star would stand out. I was trying to tone down the chrome actually, thinking about maybe plasti-dipping the chrome accent on the front bumper too. It is shiny black though, so I feel there's enough attention on the nose.
No, the star is not lighted. I'm pretty sure the wife wouldn't have approved...
I will say, that looks fantastic! One thing I liked about the diamond grille is that it cleans up the front end by basically covering up the space between the slits. On the AMG GTR grille there is space between each slit in and you can see the AC condenser and part of the radiator as well. That's my only gripe really. I liked both of them as options but went with the GTR look only because it looked slightly more aggressive.
Great job though, and an excellent comparison pic! BTW, i think we have two of the very rare GLKs with the ILS bi-xenon system. It's one of my favorite features of the car.
You're right, both looks great. it took me a week to decide witch one to choose.
Good observation from your part, those ILS are some very powerful headlights.
