GLK vs. iPhone 15?
Am I the only one, or has anybody else had trouble connecting a new iPhone to their GLK? I can't be the only one who likes old cars but not old phones. The 2014 GLK isn't exactly a model of seamless integration, but my previous iPhone 13 could connect through Bluetooth to read texts, play podcasts and provide hands-free calling. I've tried various menu routes to pair my new 15 with the car, but nothing has worked yet. I've tried both AUX and USB-C cables, and gotten no connectivity either.
Please tell me I've made a mistake, or there's a software update, or something! I'm generally satisfied and even amused with the GLK's anachronistic tech, including the fact that we're expected to enter our entire address book into the car's computer manually. I don't mind the work of loading the Music Register with my favorite CDs, one at a time. But if my phone is this locked out of the car's COMAND system, life gets more difficult. I plan to keep this car, with just 19,000 miles on it now, for a long time.

My wife and I escaped the Apple scene many years ago.
Can't answer for recent Apple devices, but our Samsung S-series connect flawlessly to our 2014 GLK Base ... Bluetooth music, phone calls, text messages...

Super interesting.. I happen to have an Android phone as well and it behaves exactly the same way as my iPhone on my GLK 250, 2015. Is yours a GLK250 or 350? Also do you have the nicer head unit or the single CD one? Mine is the less expensive one...

Problem solved, thanks to the good guys at German Motors in Lakewood, CO. One of them paired the phone successfully. Deleting previous phones seemed to help, something I hadn't tried. But here's the big news- some of the older MBs, around 2010-11, have been unable to make Bluetooth connections with the newest phones, they say. For the most phone-dependent folk, that's something that could bring forced obsolescence to a car. Makes me glad I upgraded my phone at this time with something new that does work with my 2013 GLK 350. If one of the next generations of iPhone loses this compatibility, I'll be locked in to the iPhone 15 for a long while. My GLK has only 19,000 miles on it now, and it's a keeper.
