2010 GLK350 Front Left / Front Right SRS Malfunction

Like title says, getting an airbag light with both Front Left and Front Right SRS Malfunction. Car was fine until I made the mistake of adjusting both seats all the way up / all the way down etc

I've heard this can be a few things including seat belt buckle switch or simply a loose wire that is pulled when adjusting seat to full range of mltion.

Any ides? I would prefer to handle this repair myself for obviously reasons.

Check all the fuses in various locations. It's quick and simple to remove the seat bottoms to have a look for anything obviously askew.

All fuses appear as they should, and I did check connectors underneath both sides and didn't find anything amiss there. I guess next step is removing seat bottoms.

Car had previously sat for awhile but I think the problem is directly related to adjusting seats all the way up. Could be wrong but it seemed to happen right after that.

It sure points to that, but, folks do that every day without an issue, and you, somehow, have two instances at the same time?

Folks do it every day? 😀

The last time we've adjusted the seats was many months ago. Once set for the driver, why change (?)

Multiple drivers, making room for back seat passengers, loading large objects, just to name a few.

I would be happy to be wrong but some threads I read pointed towards loose connections or short wires relating to the belt switch. I didn't have the issue until right after adjusting both seats all the way up and back in order to vacuum under and around. Checked all fuses, nothing blown.

Somewhere, someone is doing it. (It's five o'clock somewhere!) And, yeah, if you have two drivers with two different settings they're moving back and forth all the time. Compare that to the number of times it has come up in this forum. Then compare that to this guy having two different seats exhibit the same problem on the same day. Statistically, it's a (way) outlier.

A scanner should give you more insight into the cause.

The left and right malfunction could be caused by one common bad connection or broken wire. Without a wiring diagram who can say for certain.

That's kind of what I was thinking based on how it occurred at exactly the same time. I've checked fuses 15 and 21, and all connectors under both seats. I've read that a fault seat belt buckle connection could cause this. Ive also ruled out the passenger detector (or so I think. It detects someone sitting in it.)
