-15 in Chicago and remote start won’t work
I really love Benz but this factory installed remote start is SO BAD!
I’m REALLY appalled by how long the app takes to load and the one day I really need it to work-it doesn’t.
We have drone on our ‘13 Benz and that ROCKS! 15 min run time, shuts off by the brake and not the door handle and I can have our old Benz started before the ME app even loads! 😫🤬
Thanks for letting me vent.

After 30 minutes on the phone with MB customer service, I found out that someone decided to do an update to the app last night and this is causing the problem! Why they would do this right before the worst weather in a quarter century is beyond me.

I am up and running now. Per MB customer service, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, started working a few hours after that. Not sure it was the solution but if you have a minute you could try.

Mine hasn't been working for days, I bet you their update is that they simply don't have enough bandwidth. Given the millions of people that are using the system at the same time, the network just crapped out.

The remote start via the mobile app is not worth the money we pay. This app is unreliable. Most times it will not start my vechicle and it takes much to long to launch the app and start my vehicle, if it does. MB should refund us all and start over. I hope MB takes a different approach with the 2020’s.

I do agree.. Why MB would just not go to a key fob auto start along with the app? While the app has some other features that are ok such as locator service etc. I think the remote start and lock etc. really needs to be within the key fob like every other car manufacturer. I would never pay for the app since its not something I think is worth it. All else my both MB's are fun cars to drive and enjoy them very much,

I totally agree on dual options to start-fob and app. There is a way to do it as well where the panic turns into the start button. Our other Benz has this with the after market remote starter.
Also, we should be able to have the heated seats and steering wheel turn on with the remote start. Other brands offer this...

It's nice that Mercedes has the remote start option but I found that the engine doesn't warm up very much in idle but when you start driving and turn on heated seats/heated steering it's warm after a few minutes. The app on the other
hand is pretty bad. It won't let me log in, giving me wrong password messages half the time, when I log out I can't use FaceTime to login again and have to use my password, so I have to close it without logging out. Or I get a screen to enter
my PIN but the keyboard doesn't come up, really frustrating. And if your tank is less than 1/4 full you can't use remote start either.

Bravo to MB customer service! They called me today to talk about the situation. ‘Spect!
As of late this afternoon, mine worked too. Fingers crossed for tomorrow morning.

What did they do? When you say it's working, is it an improvement in terms of performance or does it just work now

The app loads now and starts the car. There is no improvement in terms of performance. 😉 I’m hopeful they improve the APP in the very near future. Hopefully, this mishap shines the light on this flawed app and MB IT gets it together.
