Hi everyone , I'm looking to purchase 2019 gls 550 with 62000miles. $50000. 4 owners and no mercedes dealer history ,I test drove it , everything seems fine other than small imperfections and maybe the suspension seem a little loud on pot holes but that could just be me. I own a 08 s550 4matic and seems like a better ride not much better but just a little. What do you guys think , good deal? Should there be something specific I should look at it? Any issues and at what milege ? Any crucial maintenance that would eat my piggy bank? Attached are the options. Not sure if it has active curve system but read somewhere it's a big plus. Not sure if it has it or was it a option ?
Please let me know what you guys think ? If possible asap as I fear it might get sold.

Solid chassis: electrical, steering, brakes, interior. Air suspension needs airbag replacement every 4-5 years. Engine is developing a reputation for cylinder scoring, uncertain mileage but 100k miles is around when it appears. Scoring is not guaranteed to happen, but it can. Front cylinder head covers leak from the factory, this can be fixed by the dealer under factory warranty, or extended warranty if you purchase one.

Engine drinks alot.
No warranty on this one , so would you pass or take it ?
I didnt t see any leaks , I saw it before they cleaned it and it looked dusty just like it should. Also 4 previous owners with no dealer records on the autocheck. Air bags should be pretty easy to do correct? But with the cylinder scoring that's a big job, estimate $ on the fix?

I wouldn't buy it because I am not a V8 person generally. Fuel consumption and maintenance cost are my objections. Plus the potential for cylinder scoring on this particular engine.
4 owners is not a good sign. They each owned it for around one year on average. Likely less than manufacturer's specified maintenance done on this car. No service history is another red flag.

Skip this one.
Thank you for your advice , I think it was 1st owner for 2... Years and 2nd 1 year 3rd 4 months and last dealer. But you are right I think I just decided only way I will buy if it has warranty, you think warranty from gmc dealer should be good enough or only mb warranty?

The GLS550 is a beast. Don’t own one without warranty!!
Also 62,000 miles for a 2019 is a lot, this truck has no warranty coverage and is missing the drivers assistance package Distronic option which is a must and came on most 550’s. And no it does not have Active Curve. Don’t be in a rush patience pays off trust me there is something better around the corner. I almost rushed into overpaying and buying so many GLS550’s before finding the one I have now.
If you can pay $50,000 for an out of warranty high mileage GLS550then you can pay $60,000 for a Certified GLS550 with much lower mileage, more options and 1 year of CPO coverage then extend the CPO coverage an additional 2 years giving you 3 years of total coverage through Jeff Jackson who has the best prices around:Jeff Jackson

Fidelity is a great warranty company, I had one on my BMW M5 for 6 years and they never denied a claim. I've had my 2017 GLS550 for 18 months so far and zero issues so far and I'm up to 93K miles. The guy I bought it from had zero issues from new as well, so knock on wood. Distronic is a must option for me.

Just a counter point, we have a 2017 GLS with 72.5k on it now, had CPO plus 2 years extended warranty. Haven't needed anything done under the warranty extension. We did have some minor repairs under the original CPO coverage.
just looking at GLS prices lately, i was surprised to see so m e if the prices return to normal/pre-covid levels. A lot of these used expensive/luxury cars used to go to where the war is now. And i mean A LOT. Now that huge market is completely shut to 0, basic econ kicks in. On the lower end, just saw a 4 y.o. Corolla with 19,999$ Dealer Price!!!

Can you please repeat? What are you saying about prices?
I'm not sure , as i don't browse specifically for cars, but recently looked at 17-18 GLS63s which i saw (surprisingly) at some 55-70$k range, which, if i remember correctly, was the precovid range for these rigs. I know newer Audis are ridiculously expensive, especially SQ/RS range, but luxe AMG Benzes seem more normal, for the above mentioned reasons.
Use car prices are dropping like a stone. Dealers are awash in inventory in a declining sales environment. Good opportunity now to buy a preowned vehicle, and it will get better, meaning prices will continue to go down for a while.
MB in particular units are losing value because their reputation for poor medium- and long-term reliability is fairly widely known. BMWs and Porsches are reasonably priced now in my view.
There are always exceptions - full size fully-optioned pickups are expensive and hard to come buy. Same with 911s, the attainable cult car. Oh well. Most of the industry is fizzling and cooling from a price point of view.
