I'm very worried about availability of the EQS so I pulled the trigger hoping to get one sometime next year. I enjoyed my E43 immensely, a fabulous car but its on its fifth year and have been pondering an electric for some time. Once I read the reviews and Edmund's reported a real world range of 440miles I was sold. I've even installed a 60 amp circuit in the garage to allow charging at 48 amps (11kw). A frustrating thing however is that even now I don't know if the charger on the car is 9 or 11kw, not even the dealer knows! The internet sites are all over the place on that but it appears european ones come with an 11 and have an option for a 22 depending on the country.

When you mentioned the internet sites are all over the place but does it include information such as those in this post that another forum member posted? Hopefully this helps : )

Edit: nevermind I see what you mean...

Thanks for the links. However even there it does not specify whether US vehicles get an 11kw charger. 22kw has no use here so its not even offered as far as I can tell. In the US anything faster than 48 amp (11kw) is DC. Most non-Tesla "fast chargers" are 50kw DC. The 150 plus are very few as of yet.

Hmmm, I wonder if this post by another forum member answers your question then (last sentence)

Looks like I might had found the information for you, I hope this actually helps:
https://www.mercedes-benz-ottawa-dow...-special/89048

"A 107.8-kWh battery powers both powertrains, and gives the EQS more than 500 kilometres of range. When you plug the EQS to a 200kW charging station, it will get as much as 300 kilometres of renewed range in 15 minutes. Also, with a 9.6kWh onboard charger, the battery can be fully charged in 10 hours (which is literally overnight) using a level 2 (240V) power source. (MB Ottawa)

Congrats on the order. It was very wise of you to put one in now as due to the chip shortage the 580 model will be produced in much smaller numbers (about 20% of all EQS’). Be sure to check out the EQS Sub-forum on here as well!
