2022-2023 gls63
Hi all
has anyone taken delivery of a new gls63? If so what do you think? Any pro/cons or issues? I don’t see much posted regarding the gls63 so figure I would throw this up.
thanks

I owned a 2021 GLS63. It spent 50% of its life in the dealers service center resolving issues with the 12v and 48v batteries. Eventually it was repurchased and I am waiting for delivery of a 2023 to replace it.

I have a 2021 GLS63 and really like it. The first few months I had a recurring check engine light that was a cylinder mis fire - eventually the engineers in Germany released a new software update for the engine that resolved it. They claim it was due to US gas quality vs that in EU but who knows. Since then it’s been great.
I get compliments on it all the time from people and it’s a lot of fun to drive. Only negative is it eats tires and they aren’t cheap. I did get the tire and wheel product at the dealer and it’s already paid for it’s self from the 4 tires I’ve replaced from nails and then one cosmetic fix.

Our 2021 had the same check engine light issue that was mentioned above. It took the deal over a month to get that resolved with Mercedes. It then began having issues that Mercedes said were related to the 12V battery which they replaced. Followed by the same issues they then related to the 48V battery. We only put 4,000 miles on the car and were afraid to get outside of an Uber ride home. It left us stranded several times....If it were solely up to me, I would rather have an Escalade V or a Cayenne Turbo (a bit too small through). My opinion is those vehicle are more value and quality for the money.

I went and looked at the following:
Range Rover P530
bmw XB7
GLS63
they are all great rides and each have pros/cons but leaning towards the RR or XB7. That escalade V is a monster. Wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I'm waiting for my allocation for the Escalade V to be built to replace my 2015i Escalade platinum that just quit at 295,000 miles. Waiting to replace the engine but the shortage of supply is holding it back since November. Most Range Rover and Escalade V are asking 50-100k over. How's the reliability of the GLS63. Should I jump ship?

I have had one for 4 days. So far so good
Question - pulling into the garage...is there a way to make the camera come on automatically every time without having to hit a bunch of buttons?
Thanks!!

It will come on automatically in reverse or if i senses you are very close to an object, otherwise you have to turn it on. Easiest way to turn on is to press and hold for a second the button with the car icon to the left of the track pad. It's a nice shortcut for the camera.

The integrated NAV is nice with the AR pop-ups, but, the Live Traffic feature does not route you the fastest way. I find I am still having to use my apple phone's Waze app to get around traffic. It sucks not being able to utilize the MB NAV in traffic and having to use a clunky app...

My 2021 has had a few issues, but nothing major:20221221 17544 Svc B, brake fluid, park sensors, hands-on, rear washer
20221110 17159 4 recalls
20211208 8672 Svc A
20211118 ? replace hatch motor
20210902 4925 hub caps, rough idle, pkg, hatch, hands off, active curve recall, rain sensor
20210204 16 new
Overall, it has pluses and minuses compared to my 2017. I much prefer the engine and driving experience in the 2017, but the 2021 has lots of cool features.
