Saw the 2024 in person today
Side by side. Honestly I don't really like one better than the other. If it weren't for the CarPlay thing I would work a deal on a leftover 23.
I think the biggest improvement is in the non AMG body.

How do these make it out to wild without anything to build on the web? Must have been from a press event? Guessing no monroney stickers and not for sale.

LOL, I feel ya. Honestly like I said I like both cars, its a very small upgrade. Its just the bumper, grille, taillights and steering wheel. Even the headlights are exactly the same which is kind of surprising. If a 2023 had fullscreen CarPlay I would absolutely buy a 23 for a better deal. The little CarPlay screen though is a total deal breaker for us though because we exclusively use CarPlay.

But then when looking at the white one, I don’t like the color marched fender flares, I think they throw off the wheels at certain angles, and looks a little too boxy in the wheel arching. Kind of reminds me the of LX570 a little bit. But to be fair, I think I am in the minority on liking the black fender flares instead of the painted ones. To me, they emphasize the wheels more, instead of the car body.
I don’t care for the new grill on the non-AMG front. It feel too much, too busy. And I can tell that I am not a fan of the new denim blue color. Doesn’t have that “pop” to it like the old midnight blue did. Reminds me the BMW blue a neighbor has on their X5. Just seems too casual for such a nice car.
But all of that said, one thing I do know for a fact, when it comes to German cars, you have to see them in person to really tell!
SW, if you end up buying one, the only thing I advise you to make sure you’re ok with is how they come to slow rolling stop. The clumsiness is annoying to live with sometimes, and as they age, it doesn't get better. My wife doesn't seem to mind, but when I drive it, it bugs me sometimes. I like a golf cart smooth rolling stop. This car, does not do that very well.

I normally see faces in the front of cars and "permanent marker" is very prominent in my mind (especially if the AMG exterior is white).

I agree about the regular grille though, its also a matte painted silver and really looks cheap IMO. The AMG car gets a glossy chrome or black chrome grille (all those models are night package cars, non night package gets a glossy lighter silver grille).
GLS is definitely my top pick for this class though. I prefer the X7 interior, but it isn’t big enough inside, especially with all 7 seats filled for this class of car.

Just park the minivan on the street with the keys in it and then report it stolen!!!! Lol That should take care of the issue
just kidding

My wife often needs to be nudged into things that she will ultimately really like.
My main thing is...I hate driving the minivan on trips! I want two vehicles that I enjoy driving. She doesn't enjoy driving anything shes not a car person.
And a $95,000 replacement. Not planning on going hog wild with options lol

First, to the first above - do share the secret on how that works!
Second, to the second above - uh huh, yeah right. I hear infrared night vision along Constitution Ave is a necessity… who you foolin’? We’ve been on these and other boards together now for 20 years!
Third - I know you know this already, but it’s impossible to compete with those sliding doors for convenience and especially when you’re in the ninja turtle phase of life.
I will say this about our GLS when compared to the 2013 Highlander it replaced - there is real value in having a booger bucket that you couldn’t care less about, when the chicken nuggets go flyin’, fruit snacks go down the seat belt latch black hole, and you need at least 3 cup holders per kid! And at your kiddos age, I would make sure the seat height in the back works to prevent the motion sickness effect of the windowsill being right at eye line height. Those rear seats are slanted down pretty low. There is nothing fun with cleaning up puke on perforated leather(ish) seats!
One option you can skip - the rear window sun shades. We have them, totally useless and never used. Can’t remove them either if you need to clean them. I would also vote for the 7-seat configuration instead of the captain chairs. With the 7 seater, you can lower the center back to separate the two seats, and with some plastic velco strips to the bottom of a plastic bin, you can have the perfect collection area for snacks and drinks (sippy cups). Mom can also sit comfortably in between them if needed.
On the AMG line - two things bother me from experience with my 212 sedan - the wheels bending and drilled rotor holes clogging up. Once I replaced the AMG wheels and went to “blanks” on my front rotors on my 212, all has been right in its world. I replaced the AMG rims with knockoff wheels last winter, and have since hit of potholes that would have bent the AMG’s (again), but did nothing to the knockoffs. The drilled rotors would warp by 20k miles, and start groaning as well. I went thru two sets before ditching. Our GLS has nothing AMG related, and has been great.

He must have forged her name because it was in both their names!. Unfortuntely I had her lease the Pacifica in her name to get the payment off my credit report since we were buying a house shortly after, so I can't pull that lol.
My wife is ready for a hot mom car...she just doesn't realize it yet. She will lol
We'll see how it foes. The lease is up on the Pacifica this winter, if she wants to stay in a van I think we will just buy that out and keep it a couple years and then take a run at something like a GLS again.
My plan is if we get the GLS I'm going to keep the S560 and buy it out of the lease, if she wants to keep the van I will get a new S Class or something else.
Here's my S560:
