Hi everyone, I’m new to this forum, apologies if this issue has been discussed before.
The driver side 2nd row seat backrest stuck in a folded position and can’t get it upright, tried to troubleshoot here are the points that I’ve found so far:
1-both sides of the seat latches to the car floor (so no issue here)
2-emergency release not unlocking one of the latches (not the door side, the other side). the wire/cable that gets to the latch has slight tension but not enough to unlock.
3-instead when getting the backrest upright once it gets 45 degree the same latch above gets unlocked through the cable( not sure this is normal and part of mechanism)
i tried to manually lock the latches with my fingers and disable the cable so it doesn’t unlock (as described #3). still the seat get stuck at 45 degree when I pull it
anyone has experienced a similar issue?
appreciate anything you can offer

I had the same issue on a 2016 GL450. I think the dealer replaced a fuse and luckily the repair was covered under the CPO warranty. Good luck!
@EWL5 Are you sure it was the fuse, because brining the backseat upright its a manual process not an electric function. Just snapping the base and pulling the backrest up.
Thank you for your quick reply

It’s possible I may be confusing w/a different issue (driver door controls were out). Glad I got rid of it after extended warranty expired!Originally Posted by Raz7

I'm having the same issue on my 2017 GLS. Were you able to find a solution? Originally Posted by Raz7

Yes, try to disassemble the left panel that the seat lever is located (find two screws). My issue was the wire that acts as connector to the latches was loose was put in place, it worked.
Good Luck

Thanks. Were you able to remove the seat lever to fully remove that panel? I was able to get those screws out earlier today, but I cannot get the lever off to see the cables better
