Congrats!
Odd that you got the TIREFIT despite not having the Burmester 3D Package!

Congrats! I'm sure it'll drive awesome! But couldn't they have made the roof rails and running boards any bigger? And it doesn't seem to matter what color you order from MB, it's going to look black. They didn't black out the badges though. All the 1000 Mercedes logos have to be shiny chrome. Love the motor though!

If you believe some members here, you have nothing to be upset about to wear the badge!

You already know my position. I wish you the best of luck in resolving your issues (and hope your loaner GLC works)!

I'm so glad I sold my 2021 GLS63 with that Hot V engine. It was so cranky and ran extremely hot, which made me fearful for its longevity.

It's interesting that those seats mimic the Ferrari horizontal strips.

Well, darlop did spend just about $150k on that AMG.
If I was in his position, I'd be furious after seeing that message having not owned the car for even a week?

I'm sure he'll keep us posted.

Yep, it is unfortunate. It's also pretty much expected to have some teething pains in the first 1000+ miles these days... regardless of manufacturer. Case in point, my neighbor's 2 week old LX600 is going in today for a check engine light and hesitation on acceleration. We were discussing this exact thing last night.

It is what it is.

I disagree that this is the new normal (especially since we are out of the Pandemic now).

Had a '21 TLX A-Spec that I picked up in Fall 2020 - no issues.
Picked up a '23 X3 xDrive30i in Fall 2022 - no issues.

Call it confirmation bias but I told my wife it would be a risk buying this GLS but we did it anyway (happy wife, happy life as they say).

I just talked to my salesman and he thinks it might be that the car wasn't taken out of transport mode because they were rushing to get it ready for delivery. I'm taking it in tomorrow and hopefully its a quick fix.

After googling I see a procedure for older models that just involves turning on the blinkers in a certain sequence. I will try that myself and see if it does anything.

You would know if the car is in transport mode because you'd have no AC or infotainment, and it would tell you every time you start it up. It could be particular pieces on the suspension (such as suspension blocks) that weren't taken off as part of the pre-inspection procedure.

Yeah I just read about that too. Hopefully nothing is damaged cause I had to take it over 50.

"Found fault code - The left rear damping valve has a malfunction. There is an open circuit. Found left rear damping valve connection point not fully seated, Adjusted and Cleared fault codes. Performed final test drive. OK now."

Service says this probably happened at the factory and wasn't caught in the PDI.

Any possible damage driving over 50 mph?

Welcome to the club.

Interesting the car came with Yokohama tires.

Now time to add a little juice to the performance with an ECU and CPC tune

That's interesting for sure. My 2024 GLS63 came with Michelin tires.

Is Yokohama part of Mercedes OEM?

That is a sharp GLS, and liking the new blue the more I see it! Enjoy the car Darlop! You know the drill with MB, some goofy errors along the way but usually worth it for the tradeoff of enjoying the car. Wouldn't worry about the suspension, if it can't handle a compressed strut at 60mph, then I doubt it can handle a ride through a flat open field, and we know that isn't the case!

When they were rolling out the MK7 GTI's in 2015, many dealers were forgetting to remove the spring clips on the suspension before delivering them to the owner. Many didn't realize they still had theirs on for weeks, until complaining the ride was stiffer then they liked. Dealer's removed the spring clips and all was fine from there. Mine was like that, went 300 miles before realizing what had happened. No problems thereafter, and I was definitely well past 50mph a few times. Granted a VW Golf and an AMG GLS are like comparing Dolly Parton to Kim Kardashian, but you get the point.
