I do love the styling of the New E class, big improvement from the other body style. However, I'm still undecided on the CLS. I kinda got angry that they took away the long flowing body line to the rear..but, when I went to the dealership to take a closer look, the interior fixings and adjustments make all that anger go away.

 

The E is well done all around. Thats the car that originally brought me into the dealership. But then, Everything on the new CLS drew me in. The new engine is an animal. It's opening up even more at 500 miles now then it was new. Drives a lot smaller than it looks too. Couldn't be happier.

 

Back in 2010, I liked the CLS styling...esp after seeing the review on Top Gear...lol. But when I saw the E, I fell in love with their new design. The other factor was that I had at them time....my 2GS, the Touareg, and wifey's M Class. Sold the Touareg this past November, and the M class in early February...and picked up the CPO GLK for the wifey last month. Needless to say...I converting from Lex to MB.

 

OK cool, we should do a mini meet/greet and/or cruise when you get back...works out since it'll be summer.

 

I'm up for that. It's a start.

right on! finally! it's about time! yes, the w212 guy w/an e550 who phml did the hid kit and leds is me ! phml rocks !!! anyway, i'd love to have a mini meet but time and date are crucial for me as i'm always busy on saturdays and sundays. i know those are the days most of you guys are avail. i'm ok by just seeing some pics after the meet, though . btw, love the new cls, dabigkaluna .

Well we did a mini run on Saturday. Tantalus, 13 Corners, Norfolk, Makapu'u, and then a cruise up Kalakaua. The CLS handles smaller than it is. Poweris on tap, turbo lag nonexistent. However... I forgot I had the car in raised up mode when we were cruising Kalakaua.
It handled Tantalus like a champ.

 

have you noticed something while you were cruising kalakaua? have you noticed most of the japanese tourists looking at you? i used to drive around waikiki a lot and got a lot of attention in an non-modded bmw. didn't try that right now. maybe even more .

 

So, anyone want to do a little cruise in of AMG or Mercedes or whatever..folks who on this board who have the same basic interests..a nice car.
I'm open to time, day and location since I'm on leave. Idea for places like in Kapolei, the Target parking lot, where there's a Starbucks co-located, or Kunia Starbucks, small parking there tho..depends on time. Some one chime in with a location and time and lets do it. June1, 2, or whenever....

 

Welcome back man! I'm down for a cruise or get together, but I just had surgery so I can't move. How long you back for? I'm definitely in for a cruise but it's going to be at least a week or two before I'm moving around again.

I'd say Target Kapolei is a good starting point. If not there, maybe Pearl City Walmart close to the Starbucks there. Or the even the Starbucks by the Airport. Thinking of places with lots of parking.

 

Anywhere is good. I will depart on the 15th of June..so any time/place

 

Im down...but weekends are the best for me....not only do I work but I also need to dropoff/pickup my daughter from summer school in town.

Target Kapolei sounds good to me.

I tried to get in the car earlier, but can't swing it, couldn't even get in to start it for that matter. Still hurting too much. under estimated this surgery.

 

OH well..I hung out for a few min. if some others who read but didn't post would come by, not so. I tried. Maybe you all can start a trend...I'll be back in 6 months and will try again then.
