In any case, thank you. You have made the whole C55 vs 300 question much clearer.

• GMC 2001 Sierra pickup with 40k miles
• Horsepower (hp @ rpm): 285 @ 5200
• Torque (lb.-ft @ rpm): 325 @ 4000
• Transmission: 4-speed automatic
• Cub weight (lbs.): 4413

VS

1980 MB 500SE with 200k miles
about 240 hp
about 285 lbs/tq
4-speed transmission
weight: 4828.12
plus bad transmission—it’s slipping
I usually beat him by 5-6 cars by the time we are doing 100mph…
How does it happen I don’t know… so why not believe him ? anything can happen

That would be because Mercedes are geared for higher top speeds than trucks How do you fare against him at stop lights ....And other reasons----- the truck could be a total lemon...W/Eurocoupe as a driver

i kill him from a stop as well, from 0-60 i have about 2 cars then after that till 100 i get 5-6 cars. No the truck has been really reliable on us it has 100 k and no problems EVEr what so ever only been to dealership for regular oil change and fuel filter change stuff like that.

Your right my car is geared for higher speed, thats why i dont understand how i slaugher him off take off as well, take off and top speed hes no match.

Just 1 question why in your 1st post do you list the trucks mileage as only 40k...? And now it's at 100k? I'm starting to doubt you

First time i raced my brothers truck it had 40k ( my car was at the shop for 2 and half years.) i beat him then and i beat him today on my way back from berkeley we stopped in fremont to get gas--we were in a 2 lane each way road, i was on teh far left their was car to my right and he took shoulder at the light and rolled down the window he said he would race me. I said 'do you want to get spank again?' he just laugh and off we go! hahaha actualy i dont mind that you dont believe me ! we are racing tomorrow and i'm getting the digital camera to capture it all ! and then i'm going to record myself going by the camera on longggg straight old hwy where no one goes on anymore...going by at 150 mph see what it sounds like on the outside! all i need to do is mod my intake as plan tomorrow and of i'm! i'll post the video later when i get back from SF with the GF. :p

does a 1999 Suburban, w5.7 liter fuel injected motor not qualify for comparison in this arguement? I put the Airaid intake, and headers, cat-back exhaust, +Power Programmer "same as ecu" on that motor.
So did these mods give you the similar 0-5hp the 300C should've got? Talk about a waste of money if thats what you got. You re-wording a quote to 'junkyard' and 'McDonald's is also partially true, in both cases. Uncle has the Mercedes junkyard, nice to have around for quick part pulls. My wife worked for McDonald's when she was 16, but her Dad never did, close though. You're quite a stand up guy, calling me names to drive your factless opinions home. Does that make you feel like a big man? Are you cool enough to stay up all night and watch the Mercedes chat forum at home on a Friday? Well done. Must be nice to have that kind of spare time. You guys argue a kill story by calling people names and posting 'smilies' of cheerleaders? Do you play Dungeons and Dragons and trade baseball cards too? Please tell me you still live at home and you're only 16-17, I'll understand your logic much easier. And for God's sake, buy a performance car at least if you know so much about it.

Ahhh. what's the matter did we hit a nerve....And I think My 01 S500 W/HPS Supercharger installed next month will qualify, to beat your Antique Mercedes collection Hell I bet my 69' Ford Bronco could as well... And yes we are all 17 and stay up late eating junkfood playing D&D, trading baseball cards...Yeah right! Boy know wonder your so uptight and argumentative, What a crummy childhood you must've had....Ya poor bas*tard...And I love this part "Buy a perf. car if you know so much about it" Man you do have a lot to learn... I guess you've never ridden in a late 60's early 70's fully built Muscle car have you..

Boy, I don't know... Weren't you the one who resorted to name calling and had someone ask you to chill out? Anyway, I've got to go, got plans this weekend but maybe I'll see you back here later today. (Maybe meaning I'm sure you never left.) As to your antique AMG comments, seems like everyone here thinks they're worthless crap. That's sad. Would you rather have your '69 Bronco (assuming its nice) or a 2001 Explorer? That's how I feel about my '86 AMG vs. a 2001 S500. May not be worth quite as much, but much more collectible and rare.

I agree w/you on the Bronco comment, but you brought it to this level when you started insinuating all I had or knew about was old trucks I actually like any year AMG, sorry I took it to far...
ps...check out this link it directly reflects my sentiments on the topic at hand "Modding and actual hp gains"----- https://mbworld.org/forums/performance-upgrades-tuning/112407-k-box-useless.html
