word, just pray that he didn't write down the plate or camera wasn't working or something, i doubt camera would have caught it since you were going 120+ if i remember correctly. that is sweet if true. congrats !

You gotta reherse this one in advance....

When travelling convoy, wifey in the Riv should pose as the "left lane bozo" to block the cop.

When cop comes zooming up, left lane bozo (wife) gets scared and puts on brakes then gently eases to the right lane, covering the white lines for at least 15 seconds effectively holding cop at 50 mph.

Meanwhile, you are WAY WAY ahead crossing thorough 150mph.

As a former cop ... I can say two things:

One ... I always enjoyed the few that got away ...

because ... Two ... people are creatures of habit and usually within a week ... sometimes within 24hrs ... I'd see the car again ... and the book to write citations is VERY BIG ... so I'd find a reason to "pull" you ... and a few times ... I got a DUI out of it ... only because I was looking for you ... you got nailed ... sooo ... to protect my fellow MB enthusiast ...

Do yourself a favor and adjust your route planning for the next week or so ... avoid that road you lost the cop on ... he's put the "word" out on you to buddies on his squad ... and let me tell you ... they are looking/waiting to see you ... usually after a week has gone by ... from personal experience ... you'll be a forgotton memory ... as far as statistics go ... you've used up your one shot to not get caught ...

hahahah i love to hear stories like this. You mentioned you have the ONLY two tone green w140 in town. That is not a car that can be mistaken for another. I wouldn't drive that car for a while either since you are the ONLY person with it.

V1 and K40 doesn't do anything these days.
Nor does the Escort even combined with Lidatek jamming.

Trust me, I'd know :'(

I guess the cops here are just more techno advanced. :x

It's fine though, we're all good friends in the SouthWest anyways.

don't wanna hijack your thread, but this does bring to mind a little fun many years ago. i was going to college, and i was dead broke. a year before, i had bought a 1967 gto tri-power. at a liquor store i was backing out, and as i turned, my front bumper caught the rear bumper of the car next to me! no insurance, no money, let me the hell out of here! i didn't get to far though, and my conscience got the best of me. i turned around and headed back for the store. within a couple of blocks, curses, too late. there were already two cop cars in the parking lot talking to the owner of the other car. what the hell could i do! the damage had been slight, but now i was a hit and run. i decided to do a u-turn, go home and forget about it. going up a hill on the way back, a black and white is coming down and goes right past me. oh ****! do ya think he has my description? yes! sure enough he hangs a power u at the bottom of the hill! i see this in my rear view mirror and my right foot slams the accelerator bfore i can even think about the consequences. now i have to win! i am in big trouble if i get caught. i hang a left on grove st. and pull a hard right on 24th st. this is national city and anybody that knew the area before development would know this would be like riding a rollercoaster going over 45. i don't know how fast i was going but it was at least double that. pulled into my parent's driveway ( i lived at home) and threw a parachute over the car. that was my car cover in those days. ran into the house and prayed. one car, two cars, three black and whites all drove slowly by my house, and not one decided to see what was under the parachute. the image that still sticks in my mind, is watching cop cars going back and forth at top speed on grove street looking for me! you could see the smoke emanating from their cars. and the smoke wasn't coming from their tires. they were pissed! my dad never did understand why i always seemed to keep the parachute over the car no matter the conditions or even if i was only going to be home for five minutes. that orange and white drop cloth was the best car accessory i ever owned.

I had a smiliar situation happen to me when I was young and dumb. However I was on a motorcycle (crotch rocket) with another buddy crusing the highway at about 95mph. All of a suddenly, we see a highway patrol parked in the center of highway facing opposite direction. By the time we saw the highway patrol car it was too late. So we double down on our clutch and went from 95mph to 125mph in no time. I knew it would be difficult for the highway patrol to get on the highway since there was oncoming traffic. We got off on the first exit and maneuvered into an apartment complex where we park our motorcycles behind a dumpster. We got off our motorcycle and walked around the apartment complex and noticed the highway patrol cruising the streets looking for us. That was probably one of the most heart pounding experiences.
