ML vs Stang
One of my friends has a friend with an older mustang i think its a 96-97. Anyways i have beating the 3.8 V6 mustang all of them i raced where autos. anyway we nothing to do so we went to have some fun. I asked so your stock right and hes like yea. Driving to the abandoned far out road i got next to him and my friends like hey mustangs dont have exhausts like that, we roll down the window and sure enough its not stock, i floor my car to try and get him to bite on the way and i hear something else... mm sounds like he has an intake what else could he have... anyways we get to the road we are racing 0-70 since i know he has mods i immediately power-break he revs his engine 3-2-1 he drops the clutch. His tires where spining 1st gear i pull about 1 foot, 2nd gear side by side, 3rd gear @60mph he starts to pull i hit 70 and hes about a car in-front of me and i let off. we do this again same results, i tried it once with out my power-break and lost by like 2 1/2cars. After that i told him i want a rolling start at 35 mph and my friend thought i was going to killed even more. i put my car in tip tronic 2nd gear its going about 3,600rpm we pass a start line we determined before we got going, we both punch it i pull ahead by a car length his tires are spinning i kept on it till 70 and he didnt pass me but managed to pull even but that took a long time. over all i think the Ml320 did well considering i had 2 other passengers and a full tank of gas and a 3rd row seat thats at least 130 lbs, vs his 3.8 liter v6 6speed mustang that had intake, exhaust, and one passenger. All in all we just had some fun but i didn't like the fact that he told me he was stock then admitted to not being stock at the end.

2000 ML 320, i used tip tronic so the car would be in 2nd gear during our rolling start. other wise the car would of been in 3rd gear and would of had to downshift into 2nd gear losing time.

i just talked to him a day ago and he has a 98 mustang. Hes not stock so thats the only reason he walked me, usually i walk on them.. time for a some mods for my car or maybe just a ML500 or an ML55.

hahaha racing RWD cars in the rain is funny, ive done that many a time they just floor it and their tires spin like crazy and i pull away with no drama. heck i think MLs do 0-60 faster in the rain due to the cold air making more HP lol

Yeh if you want performance i'd definitely get a 430,500, 55, or 63. The ML 320 is agreat car for transportation, dont get me wrong, its just not the best for racing. My mom bought a 430 because she thought the 320 was too slow, and she cares more about places to put her purse and the dog than about the engine.
