2 runs in 2 days
So last night I am coming down a bypass that leads to my neighborhood, when a '05 STi goes by pretty briskly. He's in front of me as we sort through traffic, and once everything clears he floors it from about 8 cars ahead of me. I stab the C55, no time for paddles but it was in S. From 40-75 or so things stay about even, then the C55 just walks up on the back of the STi. By 100-120 I am having to pass him. I slowed down to see if he wanted to go from something a bit slower, like 10 or so mph, and he just took off. 
Then tonight, a 997 is on my butt while I enter a local highway from a ramp. He's obviously impatient, waiting to get around me. As soon as I see that the highway is clear I gun it and so does the Carrera. From about 40-140
I open a margin from what was maybe 2 cars to about 6 or 8!! Again I slowed to see if he wanted to make another run, and he just took off. I pursued to the Interstate and caught up with him, but he was in no mood to play anymore. Oh well.
Needless to say, I am proud of my ride. Coming from a 2005 M3, I wondered how the power would serve in real life. Very well, thank you.

I was proud to see this guy giving his a workout. Most just travel from the parking lots to the garages, never to be seen or rained on, much less involved in such raucous behavior as racing.

its not that fast, especially at highway speeds, the c55 has a lot more torque and about 30 more hp.

what is the trap speed of the carrera?
btw, a c55 is faster than a m3, look at the video in the c55 c32 forum... it a very nice vid and shows the advantage of the 55 at higher speeds
a delimited c55 will hit 170-175mph.
all amg cars are limited to 155mph unless u get the performance package, then a few will hit 186 i believe

Like I said, the p-car was dead sexy, and I give the guy many props for putting it through its paces. Maybe he didn't race again becuse he was in a hurry to go home, pick up the SL65 in the 4th garage bay, and come back out to give me lessons.

Amg dudes, pls don't get all fired up and defensive.. come on.. out run by 2, 6, then 8 car length..
stock vs stock.. if you line them up at the light w/ a fair race.. it ain't no 7 cars length.. don't get me wrong,, i never put AMG down.. i got benz and porsches.. i respect the AMG, but when things get too crazy.. you got to stop and think.. and remember that all the ricers w/ the fart can out there also got post on their kill list and stories such as benz, porsches, ferrari..bah, .. i think were are mature enought to know which car is faster..vs believing who's faster . so have fun driving!

To all the non-believers, just stop to think about the possibilities that would alter the outcomes compared to the magazine test times.
Maybe it was an automatic, A/C on, slower reaction time...You get the idea.
Once with my Buick I got caught up in a high speed thing with a Lexus GS430. When he was in front of me and punched it, that split second reaction time was giving him an advantage and he was pulling away from me. When i went around him and was in front, the same thing was happening with my car. He couldn't touch me. Most of our runs were from 70-140.

I've driven the 997, I wasn't very impressed. I think it's cool that a 4 door can waste on a sports car. I do the same thing in the S600, I destroyed a C5 Z06 just last week, he was in complete shock!
