The C55 vs. SRT-4, stock for stock, would completely be a one sided race.

Moparsrule: You're a complete idiot. You come over to our forum, start a thread with a deceptive title "My C36 just lost to an SRT-4!!!" and you expect what from us? I've read this thread from the begining and all you've done is insult the members here. Maybe you thought the C36 was a faster car, but that's your problem now isn't it?

I STILL haven't heard back from you regarding my misinformation on dodge products.

So show us this Neon Supercar, you do have photos of you car right?

I bet your car is not even a Neon SRT-4, just a plain old Neon with a lame a$$ body kit that has not been painted to match the rest of the car and has a big F1 style wing on the back that if it ever cought air it would remove your trunk lid.

Just thought I'd get my .02 in before this thread gets locked....

Maybe I'm the only one here to feel this way, or at least admit it, but I can't say that I have much respect for the SRT-4, or any Neon for that matter. They are crap cars.....you could make an old CRX just as fast, if not faster w/ the same amount of money. Not everything is about speed; getting a car because you think it is the fastest thing around is about the dumbest idea which will result in the biggest waste of money. No car will remain king of the road forever (not saying that the SRT-4 is....not even close), so you are just setting yourself up for disappointment if that is the only factor that you look at when buying a car.......which seems like the only logical reason why someone who could afford better would choose the Neon. The quality, aesthetic appeal, and reliability is just not there. Car enthusiasts aside, nobody is going to look at the SRT-4 as anything more than a riced-out looking Neon.

So, you may be relatively quick in your little tupperware-mobile that you call a car....hell, you may even beat my beautifully manufactured and comfortable sedan in the 1/4 mile (by less than you would hope), but I will certainly catch up when your engine goes BOOM in 40-50k miles and mine is still pulling hard.....and I will be enjoying my car the whole way. Sorry if anyone else on this board has an SRT-4 that they are proud of......I don't mean to offend any of you; this car is just not my cup of tea, and I don't agree that one can make the comparison between it and a C36 AMG.

I would not own a Dodge neon SRT-4 or any other model Neon even if they were given out for free when you order a happy meal. They are a tin box with wheels. Will a Neon SRT-4 go 155mph and will you live to tell the story?

here is some stats for a 03 SRT-4

Year 2003
Manufacturer Dodge
Model Neon
Trim SRT-4
Body Type Sedan
Base MSRP $19,995 US

Curb Weight 2,970 lbs.

Engine
2.4 Liter HO Turbocharged Gas
Front Engine / FWD
16-Valve DOHC

Displacement 2,429 cc
Horsepower(HP) 215 @ 5400 RPM
Torque(FT-LBs.) 245 @ 3200 RPM
Redline 6000 RPM

0-60 mph 5.9 s
0-100 mph 13.8 s
1/4 Mile 14.2 s @ 102 mph may seem fast to a untrained A$$ Dyno
Gas Mileage 22 MPG City / 30 MPG Highway

congrats on the kill..

I live in chino and always use the 71 fwy to commute to and from work.

What color is your STR4? do you have wheels? are U modded?

next time I see you, I will give you a thumbs up and show you my tail lights as I pull away.

keep it fair and clean out there!

Too bad that STR4's have enough of hard time keeping up with the EVO's, WRS STI's that they have to pickon 10 year old car designs to feel important.

SRT4's can be made to crazy fast, at the expense of safety, reliability, driveability, comfort, noise ...

I rather buy a used WRX and mod to have AWD and Turbo.

First off, I don't care for the poster/driver of the SRT-4.

Now to get to the point, if you whine and cry about how a Neon beat a AMG in a straight line, you might as well just leave.

My point is, any car can beat any car. I'll bet you $20 a SRT-4 can beat a SL65 AMG if the SRT is modified to a certain degree.

Snap out of it, a race is a race, and a win is a win, regardless of the cars. You can argue that the AMG had nappa leather or whatever, but don't whine about it.

werd.....exactly what I was thinking. It is impossible to judge value of a car by the results of a stoplight race. There is no need to get butt-hurt when you get your a$$ handed to you at the strip (or wherever else). But then again, w/ guys like mopar-man, maybe the only thing going for them is the speed of their car????

and yeah, Davis449 I'm w/ you on that.....you should see some of the looks I get from girls driving around campus. Even my girlfriend noticed it I wouldn't really suspect that a 6 yr-old w202 C-class would be so impressive, but I swear, w/ some of these girls, any MB/AMG/BMW/M is like an automatic leg-spreader :v

I just wanna share a story. It happens a while back in 2002.

My friend was racing chrysler intrepid with his e46 2001 BMW 325i on the highway. Definitely win and yeah he was winning. And then he just kept driving around 100mph. And guess what? The chrysler guy couldnt take the FACT that he lost. Suddenly came out fast from behind so my friend started to accelerate again but when he reached 200Km/h or 125mph the chrysler guy cut my friend off right in the front of his bmw and the chrysler guy suddenly hits the BRAKE hardly. My friend was shocked and he also hit his brake pedal, but before even he reduced his speed, that chrysler started to shake like hell and it lost its balance and hit the highway divider. Fortunately my friend's reflex was able to avoid that accidence by pulling to the right. He was scared, and decided to get off the highway(many witnesses when they were racing). The accidence was on the highway outside of toronto, many cops were coming. My friend managed to get back to toronto by finding small road beside the highway. Lucky, didnt hit his bimmer. If it was then it would be his fault since he hits that guy from behind even its totally not his fault.

From that lesson, i wont take a risk by racing cheap car(sorry dont mean to be arrogant).

Owned a Neon

Prior to the TDI, we owned a Neon as our commuter car (140 miles per day) and I can honestly say, that unless they did some MAJOR structure and suspension work on the SRT4, I wouldn't even consider driving the Neon over 85-90 mph! I had a few chances to get my Neon up to about 80 and that was the max that it was safe to handle.

Did anyone else notice that Mr. Mopar is calling other people on spelling (e.g. "safety") yet he frequently used "your" cuz he doesn't understand contractions ("you're"). I found that slightly amusing - but typical of a school child.

And if you don't want to meet AMG55, bring the Mopar Beast out to the east coast and test it against AMG55 .. the stealthly looking SLK55. I'll TRY to give you a decent race.

cheers

It may seem fast for a kid with his first car.

I have seen a few of the Neon SRT-4 around town. The tires are so skinny I will have to check my spare tire to compare. I do not see how they can get any power to the ground. most of the Neons in town are standard models with body kits, wings and go BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!! down the road.

If one of these hopped up ricers will dare I may give it a run on the street (not the safest place to race)

no one except a 04 z06 has tried to race me. I passed on that challange just beacuse my car only had 77 miles on it at the time.

a few...
okay i havent said a thing about this whole thread but i will say this...

the srt4 is great bang for your buck, nothing quite like it.... but at the end of the day it is still a Neon, even though that is a lame excuse. The safety, reliability, comfort, and absolute respect of the car is crap. It can move like a scalded dog when it wants... but if you wnat a fast cheap car... go get a 9k GNX and I will have a car that will smoke the crap out of ANY SRT4 period.

So quit trolling... noone really cares about any SRT4s on this board and, as you can see, all you are doing is pissing people off.. which is what your car does to to every person who has to hear the dump truck go by.

I'm almost in disbelief. Are you actually thinking about running TopGun's C32? You have to be one of the dumbest ricers I've ever heard. I can't believe my eyes. Brotha, you better be lying and be seriously modded. I love you little *******s, you crack me up. Come up in here, startin' **** cause you wanna be a troll. Go back to your forum filled with 16-18 year olds who just got their first car and misinformed people who bought a POS Dodge and think they're cool and bug them. Jesus, how many of us do you think would come into your forums and talk ****? Go home.
