So A friend of mine has a cuzin that has an a 2005 M3 compition Pak...So I see him in the streets and hes like hey lets so what that junks got...so i laughed, honestly I didnt kno what the outcome would be...BMW claims 0-60 in the 4.8 ....Benz Claims 0-60 in 5.7 ANYYYWAYS we raced 4 times 2 from rolling and 2 from stand still...from rolling i would put 2 or 3 cars ahead of him each time....from a stand still about 1-1 1/2 cars....??????? His M3 is SMG...I mean It was simply hillarrriouss to me...Ive blasted on M3`s b4...but it was just so much more enjoyable bcuz he said he wanted to see what "that junks got" (clk)

1. E46 M3 with SMG will make a perfect launch off the line by using the launch control.

2. You probably invest more than $10k in a regular E46 3 series to make it the same exterior look as the E46 M3.

My pick will be 3 and 4.

What does this have to do with the M3 and the CLK? I guess your trying to clown him for his screen name. my opinion even if he was lying not cool.....

I think its probably likely. Road and track tested a CLK500 with the 5 speed and hit 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. A CLK500 with the 7 speed would be very close with a M3 out of the hole and maybe put the hurt on one from roll on. Remember a CLK500 has 339 ft-lb torque vs the M3's 258 ft-lb. Also the M3's power comes on much later.

JLP has an excellent point about torque and power delivery in regards to a comparison of the two motors.
