Porsche Turbo Got Owned
L8Apex, what you say is true. However, the magic is to find the inflection point where street and track performance meet. The AMG cars are not even that great for street performance, i.e. hammering up canyon roads or Mulholland Drive. That is the definition of a supercar... like a Carrera GT, for instance. A road car on DOT tires that can run with a full blown GT3 Cup car, now that's very cool! But I guess it is all subjective anyway.
The DP GT3 Turbo is nice, don't know much about the Dwain car... but still the reference standard is the Jurgen Alzen 996TT for enduro racing in a 911, which set the new qualifying record in the 24H Nurburgring. The SECAN intercoolers in that car run $20K+ alone... The Manthey Racing GT-MR is nice too.
Are you friends with Cary as well? He is a cool guy and very knowledgable. I wish he made suspension parts for my E55.
Cary is one of those people that showed me that you can have an unbelievable car for the track that is still very much drivable on the street. Have you ever ridden in his car with revalved JRZ's? Most impressive. How do you expect me to like the handling of an E55 when my GT2 is undergoing suspension surgery with Porsche Motorsport Cup and RSR parts, as well as ERP stuff?
