Modded C32 freeway run with new M5

Ran an E60 M5 yesterday on the 15 north (E60 was maroon colored, driven by a gray-haired guy looking to be in his mid 50s). Anyways, we only had runs of 5-8 secs from roughly 80 to roughly 110, each of which essentially amounted to him being in front of me and nailing it (big cloud of exhaust gas) and me doing the same. I certainly was not in danger of running him over, but nor was he running away from me. It is hard to judge a "train race" but I would say that it was even or that the M5 had a miniscule pull factor. It was very similar to short runs with an E55K which I had a few months back. . . very close.

Please do not respond that he must have only been a retard or in 400 HP mode (rather than 500). My C32 is well over 400 engine HP and is probably the lightest 32on this board (no options other than Bose, no spare, no sunroof, Optima battery, 18 lb. wheels, Toyo tires). If he had been in 400 HP mode, I would have eaten his bumper.

I tried to line up side-by-side but he exited the freeway. Damn.

I don't doubt it man, that supercharged V6 rocks with the right mods, and you have a lightweight chassis, very doable. Train races suck though, I feel for ya.

vomit...

from 80 to 110... you won't be too far off... but once he gets on the power band... it would be too hard to keep up

Either way... he must of been surprised he could not shake you.

No win or lost.... just flexing muscle.

congrats, Vomit. He probably had no clue what you where driving.

Did you notice a BMW dealership near the exit he took? The guy was probably on his way to kick the salesman's a$$ who sold it to him and trade it in.

It is true that 80-110 is one of the best races for a C32, as you kick down right into the meat of 3rd gear, and are there until 105 or so. I would have to agree that, after 110, the chances of me hanging with an E60 are rather small.

No sheet. I love the E60, but the markup is just absurd. He was either looking for the dealer to trade the overpriced beast in or was quickly heading back to work to make some cash to fund the $2K monthly payment.

BTW, I saw a black E63 on the floor of MBSD. Anyone know how much over sticker they are going for?
