The video to that...

So what viper of mine would get beat by a MB? What MB can run a low 10 on a true street tire (not a drag radial)?
Irony defined. (I'm sure you will not get that one.)
Top model Viper? There is only one model. Lowest model Lambo? It's $230,000. Let's face it, a guy like you will never concede the point. Sit there with your keyboard and keep thinking you know about "fast" because you built a "supercar" on Gran Turismo. We'll be out in the real world setting more world records (Here's a clue: when you have a world record, it means you are the fastest).

Gary you have some FAST cars. TT vipers are really fast and among the fastest cars on the track. But theres ALWAYS something faster. At our last track rental there was a superstreet camaro than ran 7 secs. SO what? Its expected. If I take my car to the track and run a high 11 second pass, that will raise quite a few eyebrows, why? Because its not expected aka sleeper. No doubt vipers are fast as **** and I would love to have one but to see a 4 door "old mans" car in street trim turn those kind of times is simply amazing. I'm, not saying a 11 sec mercedes is better than a 8 sec viper, I'm just saying the each have something special in a different way. I've actually been looking at purchasing a viper or supra for just that reason. A friend of mine has a 1000whp E36 BMW 328i. Same frame and body as the day it came off the dealer lot. When I saw it run my face was like The sleeper effect just makes it that much cooler.
When you get ready to build something fast, come find me over at the viper forums. I've tried lots of things and I could probably point you in the right direction when the time comes.

I'll take the Ford GT over the Viper any day. Vipers are so butt-ugly. Sorry, Gary. Oh, and by the way, I know that I'm totally in the wrong here, because I think Supras are ugly too. Any way you cut it, fast just isn't enough to keep the interest of some people (like me).

Gary, Thanks for the pics. I've always loved the Viper, especially blue/white combo. I actually test drove a viper before getting my E55. Fun to drive. Who cares about functionality! I just want fast. So...I modded my E55 and have been waiting to get out on the road and roll up with a Viper. Two days ago I was driving out of town for an appointment and there were about 10 vipers going the opposite direction on the freeway. Had I not been running late to make an appointment 130 miles out of town I would have turned around to have some fun. I guess there's a huge Viper convention here in Vegas this weekend, and of course, as usual, I'll be out of town. Anyway, love the pics and videos.

Glad you like the vids. Yes, VOI (Viper Owner Invitational) is going on out there right now. I've never been to one, but they seem to be pretty top notch. I love anything fast. I know it is quite a distance from you, but I am organizing a great event in December in Sarasota Florida. We should have a pretty nice turnout of cool fast cars. Here is the link...

Nice vipers Gary. I'll definitely contact you if I pick up a Viper. That second viper in the pics (the newer one with CCW wheels), did you sell that to someone in VA? He came to our last track rental. Looked EXACTLY like that. My personal favorite is the blue GTS with white stripes. I dont like the new vipers at all (aesthetically).

I just picked up another SRT that looks very similar to the last one. The old one was making about 1000rw. The new one will make closer to 1200rw. We will be taking it to the track in a couple of weeks to go after the SRT world record.
I agree with you. the new vipers aren't nearly as appealing as the gen 2's (GTS).

BTW, If you like CLK's, you might like this. My friend brought his CLK60 Widebody over to the house. It was a quick little car. I think it was making around 550hp.
It had an awesome exhaust note. I think I have some videos of that thing somewhere. Here are some more pics if you are interested...

Here is the video. Excuse the quality. This was several years ago when I was just getting into racing. I drove this car to an 8.0 1/8th mile. I'm sure it was an 11 second car.

What makes the Viper the street king for the quarter mile? Is it the wide track?
In terms of ruling the streets (Drag Radials and NOS are illegal on the streets at least in the UK) I would say that a modded 997 TT rules

The quad turbo V12 Skyline exists. It even has a Mercedes-Benz engine.

..........I am actually not happy at all with my run. I've run high 11.9's with this car @117mph. I am trying to put the finishing touches to the car with the latest mods and it looks like I need to do some re-tunning. My point is that the Viper was not even a problem, I am looking for bigger fish to fry. What is the 1/4 mile numbers for a stock viper anyway? The only way the viper will be a problem is if it is a mid 11sec car stock.

Believe it or not but the Viper is such an extreme car, it takes a experienced driver to get the full potential out of them. They make copious amounts of TQ with no traction control what so ever. Most of the wins come from driver error on the Viper to say the least.
Alot of owners of those cars have no idea how to drive them let alone control them. In the future, I WILL OWN a 08 Viper. 600HP beast that seems to be the last generation of the tractionless models.
YOu cannot compare a Viper to an AMG. Run those animals on the HWY, and you will get raped unless you are heavily modified and he is stock
