there is no way you ran a full second faster in a 400hp sl.

before you start saying i cant launch etc., my brother also ran high 13's in his e46 m3.

ok guys.....you want to know how I put those number........ I talk to Steve and Peter at Brabus I would get the engine only if the car can do 12 sec.. .... They told me sure but my top speed and MPG will be reduce....... Top speed reduce to 170 mph instead of 185 mph....... not like I need to do topspeed eveytime... ..MPG..... I get about 10 MPG now... ..... weight.... no hardtop, no spare tire..... and some other junk I don't need... ...... All I could say the car pull more than 400hp & more than 430 tq that for sure... ... Oh yeah I run with the Hoosier slick tires on the rear..... The car took of like an arrow.......no wheel spin..... ...

Wow, what a stupid, idiotic, pointless, uninformative, worthless, childish, silly, nonsensical rant.

Yes, I'm sure you're the terror of the tracks in that Turbo Diesel.

Sorry, but I've got better things to do than argue with young children. Do that enough with my own. Come back when you reach college age and may actually be able to comprehend entry level Physics material.

SLBrabus, perhaps you could answer a question for me:

I notice that the date on your timeslip is yesterday, November 29, 2006, which is the day you say you ran at LACR (I took the liberty of saving off a copy, which I'll keep in my pocket in case yours disappears after this).

I was curious, and so I went and visited LACR's official website, which is here:
http://www.lacr.net/

There, they have a handy-dandy weekly schedule, which you can view here:
http://www.lacr.net/week.html

And it's quite interesting to read what it says.

Care to explain how you managed to run there yesterday when their website says they were closed???

He already said that they closed the track and he only got one run in. He said they closed the track due to high winds as well, but after he had gotten a run in. Its possible it wasnt windy until after his first run, i have been to LACR many times, the weather and winds there are unpredictable, it is a desert. I have been to the track got two runs in and then they closed it after my two runs. Same thing could of happened in his case.

It could have, but it didn't. Here is accuweather's 24 hour weather history for Palmdale from yesterday:
http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast...93550&metric=0
Past 24 Hours DetailsPast 24 Hours from 4pm Nov. 29
(Reports from palmdale, ca)
Time Temp (° F) RealFeel (° F) Rel. Hum. Wind Dir. Wind Speed Press. (in) Precip. (in) Vis. (Miles) Weather
4pm -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
4pm 40 31 12 E 12 30.32 0.00 10 clear
5pm 37 25 13 E 16 30.33 0.00 10 clear
6pm 36 24 15 E 14 30.37 0.00 10 clear
7pm 34 24 15 E 12 30.39 0.00 10 clear
8pm 34 25 14 E 11 30.42 0.00 10 clear
9pm 34 24 15 E 12 30.43 0.00 10 clear

No sudden pickup in wind there. In fact, the wind was higher at 5pm when he supposedly ran this race than it was at 7PM.

Plus, if you call LACR you get a recorded message which states "This Wednesday night's race has been cancelled due to high winds. Once agin: tonight's race has been cancelled due to high winds"

No, we are talking whether the track was actually open. Their website says they weren't. Their phone recording says they weren't.

Boy, you sure are a sore loser. Just because I wouldn't accept that bull**** about Rutter really stuck in your craw, didn't it? So now what, are you following me around and trolling? Grow up, you big baby.

Did you call exactly at 5? Improviz you have never been to this track im assuming, i have been there probably around 7 times or so. That track is a very funky one when it comes to the way its run. I have been there on a night when a sandstorm did not close the track, but then it started to hail and they closed it.

Hey, when you say a 400 horsepower, 4125 pound car can run a mid 12 at 113, I smell . So I decided to look at their site and see if any results from yesterday were posted. Instead, I found that schedule page saying they were closed.

I guarangoddamtee you that if I'd posted a mid-12 from yesterday in my stock CLK55, and it'd been you that went to LACR and found that, you'd have posted it.

No, I just posted historic weather data from 4PM yesterday on. I checked this after you said that perhaps the wind had picked up after he'd gotten there.

But the weather data does not show this.

Fine, but then that would be in the weather data, now wouldn't it?

Your argument was that perhaps the wind picked up after he got there. The data shows that this is not the case. Right?

If the track was open, it was open, but I'm not taking this guy's word for it if he's going to try and tell me a 4125 pound car w/400 horsepower was trapping at 113.

Hey, dude....the magazine tests I posted were from mutiple publications, with the same publications testing BOTH Brabus cars rated at higher horsepower than AMG cars. The same publications tested BOTH AMGs and Brabuses, and in EACH CASE, the AMGs were faster.

These are not opinions, they are verifyable facts. OK? Anyone can look at them, and see that what I'm saying is the truth.

So I really don't give two ****s if you don't like the results, if they hurt your little fragile ego, if they make you feel insecure because you seem to worship Brabus, whatever.

The data shows what the data shows. And if you don't like what it shows, take it up with the editors of the publications who conducted those tests.

And if Brabus did, as you maintain, actually modify your SL to where it's putting out about 475 crank horsepower, which is what it would need to hit 113 in the 1/4 mile, well, then this proves that in this case, they actually managed to hit some good performance numbers.

To do this, you would need a total engine rebuild, and they'd be getting 95 hp/litre out of a naturally aspirated engine, which is about the same as what the supercharged AMG motors get per liter (96 horsepower/liter), but anything is possible. I'd have to see a list of mods before I believed it, though.

But you know what? The other examples are still here, the tests are still valid, and no amount of whining or diversion on your part can change that. Just because you found one fast example does not disprove that all of the other examples were tested slower by reputable publications.

The fact is that Brabus clearly has been publishing overrated horsepower figures in the past, as anyone reading the numbers I posted previously can see for themselves.
