Drag track (SL Brabus vs E63) after that I got kick out....
I went to the LACR drag track today....... It was cold and windy.......anyway I was looking to run any AMG out there.... .. So I found an E63 and ask him if he want to run.... ... so we are off....... He put on his helmet......I was saying to myself it not like his car going to flip over... .... anyway here the drag timeslip.....I lost.. ..... after that drag I got kick out for dragging with no helmet on... .. anything faster than 13.99 required wearing a helmet........suck.. ...end up call it a day and go home.... ... Oh yeah Palmdale LACR is 2,710 ft. above sea level for altitude correction here the formula:
ET: multiply your et (at LACR) by .97
MPH: multiply your mph (at LACR) by 1.03
This will give you the ET & MPH at sea level.
My car should be running at 12.55 @ 111.62
E63 should be running at 12.44 @ 112.86
ET: multiply your et (at LACR) by .97
MPH: multiply your mph (at LACR) by 1.03
This will give you the ET & MPH at sea level.
My car should be running at 12.55 @ 111.62
E63 should be running at 12.44 @ 112.86

BMW FTW
Just post pictures of anything. It does not even have to be a car. If you just post a picture of a cactus or a dog every time he posts something eventually he will stop. How can one argue with a cute picture of a puppy dog.

This is the LACR rules........
Helmets
Drivers of all 13.99 or quicker cars, and co-drivers in 14.00 to 14.99 second cars, must wear a helmet meeting Snell 95 or Newer, or SFI 31.1,31.2 specs.

do you have a 230 or 129?
thats ****in fast for a 5.8
how is that possible?
me and my brother (e46 m3 smg) ran high 13's. your car cant be a second faster, its much heavier and the hp difference is very small, and your trap speed is more than 8mph faster

Sorry, but this trap and ET would be impossible w/400 hp.
An SL500 (and I assume you're talking about the previous-gen) weighed in at 4,125 pounds, per MBUSA's info page on the model, here:
http://www.mbusa.com/pre-owned/2000/...ory=dimensions
This gives you a weight/hp ratio of 4125/400 = 10.31 pounds/hp.
This is the same as an E46 M3. It is worse than a W208 CLK55 (10.09). It is worse than a 996 Porsche Carrera. It is worse than a C32, a bit better than an Audi S4.
All of these are solidly in the 13s, and trap in the 103-106 range.
A new Corvette otoh, has 400 horsepower, and weighs in at 3300 pounds or so, giving it a hp/weight ratio of 8.25:1. This is nearly a 20% improvement over yours. They run mid-upper 12's at 113+.
And yet I'm supposed to believe that you trapped at only one mph less than a car which weighs in at 825 pounds less than your car and has the same horsepower?? Or, in the case of the E63 you said you ran, you trapped within 1 mph of a car that weighs in at only 75 pounds more than yours and has 100 more horsepower??
With 400 horsepower and a driver weighing 160 pounds, you would be trapping at about 106, with a mid-13 ET. To trap at the speed you're claiming, you'd have to be at more like 470 horsepower.
Further, the current SL550, which has 382 rated horsepower, has been tested in the mid 13's in the 1/4, at about 105 mph. You're telling me that an extra 28 horsepower is going to pick you up a full second and 7 mph in the 1/4?
No way. Either you're running spray, your car is 800 pounds lighter than stock, or that thing's modded to well beyond 400 horsepower, but a 10.30:1 weight/hp car is never, ever, gonna trap at 112+.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and I'm not going to accecpt a claim that is physically impossible just because someone posts a slip on the Internet.
If the slip is right in there with what physics says the car should run, fine.
If it's wildly off base, not fine. A given car with a given weight and a given horsepower can run a given maximum time, period, end of story, that's that. This is dictated by the laws of physics, which *are * "real world", friend.
Oh, and what are magazine data? Fantasy world? Aren't these scientifically conducted tests in the real world? Are they done on Mars? On the moon? On some other planet, or in some other universe than ours? Do tell...
Or are you implying that they make this stuff up? What an odd comment.
Please explain why magazine tests do not qualify as "real world" results. I'm all ears.

^^^^ where do u come up with this ****...
so ur telling me if i had a 350WHP car weighing 3500lbs, i in a million yrs will never beat anything with 400WHP and a 3000lb car. did u know in real life most of racing all comes down to DRIVER. not car...

Physics. Force = mass*acceleration. Newton's Second Law of Motion. Ring a bell? My guess would be no....
Simple question: do you understand English? Because that sure as hell isn't what I wrote. What I wrote was that when a given car of a given weight has a given amount of horsepower, there is a maximum speed that this vehicle will be able to attain in a 1/4 mile race.
So while if the driver of the 400hp /3000 lb car in your theoretical example screws up mightily, you might be able to beat him in your 350hp/3500 pounds, you will never be able to hit beyond a certain trap speed in the 1/4 mile. And his car will have a higher maximum trap speed than your car will have, because each of his horsepower has far, far fewer pounds to move around than your car. Therefore, it will be able to accelerate to a higher speed over a 1/4 mile race.
Did you know in real life I've actually done plenty of drag racing, probably far more than you?
So power and weight have no effect on a car's max trap speed, eh?
OK, so do you think a "great driver" can trap at 115 mph in, say, a Honda Civic?
Or does the car have a maximum speed in the 1/4 mile governed by the laws of Physics?
Take your time, now...I know this might be a tad bit difficult for you.
And I'll pose the same question to you that I posed to SLBrabus: are you saying that magazine tests aren't "real life"? What are these things, comic books?

SL Brabus has a BADASS ride to pull those figures!.....The point is, SL Brabus must have MORE than 400 hp to make those numbers.
I'm not picking sides........
EDIT
Apparently, I posted this during Improviz's reply. Screw it, I'm going to leave it anyway

He'd have to be at or near 480 horsepower crank to hit those numbers, unless he's stripped several hundred pounds' worth of weight off of it.
