a properly driven z06 will kill a 997tt thru the 1/4
they ran an 11.9 in the 997 (and thats the faster 5A), the z05 is a mid 11 sec. car stock

I know a particular car that can spank that motorcycle.. The only trick is the race has to be on canyon roads. THis particular car is street legal and pulls 1.6gs in the turns.. JJ

Like I've stated many times before,a *properly* ridden '05-'06 600cc sportbike will show cars like ours it's taillight in the 1/4 mile.BUT,the average 600 rider(90% of all beginning riders buy 600's)is a squid&cant ride for crap. Not all,but a very very good majority.A geared&lowered 600 is capable of hi 9's in the 1/4,but will fall on it's face over 140 due to said gearing.A decent guy can put his 600 into the mid to hi 11's after a few visits to the track.
The bigger the sportbikes are(750,1000,1300cc,etc),the room for rider error on launch increases 10 fold. It's very difficult to launch&60' a short wheelbase 1000cc sportbike w a hi center of gravity aggressively. It wants to wheelie instantly in the hands of the unskilled.Alot of guys on 1000's,Busa's,ZX-14's are posuers and think because they own the fastest production bikes made, they are "untouchable" by cars on the street/strip.Just because you own a low 9 sec bike doesnt mean you can ride it to a low 9sec 1/4mi E.T.
These are the people who get whooped by turbo supra's,viper's,vettes, etc.
On the flip side,I've seen bone stock ZX-10's run 9.30's with a pro jockey in the saddle. These are the same guys that'll put a GSXR-600 into the mid 10's in a matter of 2-3 runs, where the average rider would struggle to get low 11's after a summers worth of practice.
You need alot of hp in your car to take down a modded 180+rwhp open-class sportbike(with requisite experienced rider on board)in an acceleration contest. It's possible, but dont bother unless your pushin 1100rwhp.My buddy's '04 ZX-10R w 170rwhp raped a 720+hp supercharged vette, from a 2nd gear roll-on.He literally wheelied away, and he weighs 220lbs w gear on.A lighter rider woulda made it worse. That vid's posted somewhere here.
The closest race I've witnessed was between a friends '99 turbo busa running 25lbs of boost against a 1500rwhp hennesey viper that was rumored to run 8.60's.The busa dyno'd close to 500hp.They ran a 2 mile running start race and the car actually pulled out as the bike struggled for traction in the first 3 gears.I'd say he put a good 10-15 cars on the busa.Once the busa hooked up,he walked the car like it was standing still and locked 243mph on his Garmin GPS at the 2mile mark.Dont remember what the car did but it was over 200mph as well ...Were talking $40,000 bike vs.$200,000+ gorgeous viper.
Sorry for the long boring post everyone, forgot this was a car forum

Yea I noticed that in one of the Z06 races it looks like the driver messed up his 1st to 2nd shift and it took a long time for him to finally get it into 2nd.

Oldgixxer....
I hear ya ... don't know if the debate will ever end.
Sometimes it's interesting...
and sometimes it's just, well
You have any videos or links with that 'Busa vs. Hennessey Viper?

Best Motoring drivers are not mediocre drivers, they have been around for years and many of them have raced professionaly.

Very true! I have only seen a handful of cars with +800hp cars beat 1000-1200cc bikes including a busa. Alex's 996tt is one of them. 60-130mph in 6 seconds.

S65, SRT-10 Viper, FFR Shelby Cobra
I have beaten a few bikes in my cobra, and gotten some of the runs on Video.
This is an older video when my car had about 100 less RWHP than it does now, but as can be seen it was very competitive with this bike:

In this Video I have my new motor get up to about 170MPH per hour and I am clearly able to pull on this bike:

Here is a video of the cobra vs a 930RWHP Supra.
Aero dynamics plays a big role:
