S500 encounters 350Z

First of all , I am not familiar with the 350Z. I could drive by them all day and not really notice them. However, today I found myself moving through afternoon traffic with a 350Z pacing me. I figured "OK...this guy is a driver and if I see a hole open up and he can stay close enough to take advantage of my wake...then so be it".

I found myself in a left hand turn lane behind an Escalde. After the turn I saw my shot and took it. I was rolling about 30 and nailed it with the Z in my mirror about 3~4 lengths back. He pulled to my left as to pass...my right foot glued to the floor. I figured he would begin to slip by...but as we approached 80 I began to slowly pull away. The Z pulled back in behind and as I passed 90 I began to slow down. The Z driver flashed his lights, gave a thumbs up and turned off.

I don't know for sure what year this car was...it looked like a current year model.
The long and short of it is that he thought he could come around the S500 that was "in his way" but ran out of beans before he got the job done.

I drove a 2003 S500 and was really impressed or surprised by the power it has with all the heft. Truly a beautiful car. Nice Kill.

540 6spd
Those 7spd tranny's...... the ratios thru the first 3 gears are so close that you'll always find yourself in the meat of the powerband.

Could've been an auto 350z.

My bad. I've only driven an S55 and that was 5 speed so I put two and two together and came up with 5.
