I was on my way home from meeting and saw a CLK 500 or 550 cab..
I usually don't race at all but I got bored and decided to play with him a little.
As soon as we got on to the interstate, CLK switched his lane to get next to me.. I swithced tranny mode to S and stayed in 3rd gear.. I wasn't sure when he will be flooring the gas so i stayed with him on 70-80%. I knew he went WOT when he got a half car lenght jump. SO I went WOT n C55 pulled on CLK quickly than I expected.

I would say I pulled about 2-3 cars before speedo reached 120-130mph..I had PLENTY of room to switch lane.


After that I gave him thumbz up and he did same for me...

I fig CLK would be faster than 55 due to higher hp / tq... Maybe he didn't know how to drive???

First, you don't even know which models you raced with. How can you not know when the guy was next to you? If you won by 3 car lenght, then it was the CLK 500.

Yeah, sounds about right. Especially since it was the cab. If it is a 5 speed CLK500 Cabriolet then I could definitely see you gaining a few lengths on him. Nice kill

umm... Usually, model's name / numbers are on the BACK of the car right???


I figure it was a 500.. I wonder how 55 will do against 550.
what cha think?

Your 05' probably won't do well because of the 20 hp advantages and the 7-speed on the 07' Clk 550.

Versus the coupe it would be a driver's race. Keep in mind the CLK is heavier, and the CLK Cab is definitely heavier than the coupe.

According to MBUSA:
CLk550 Cab: 3,965 lb

According to AMG:
C55: 3597 lb (1635 kg * 2.2)

My bets are on C55 on this one. The coupe however, will be a different story.
