2002 A4 Quattro MT5 (modded ;)
The new A4 started selling in late 2001 as a 2002 model. The new A4 is about 100 pounds heavier the the previous platform(my car is 3400 pounds) but compared to the V-6 competition it still has an edge in the weight department. BTW I really like your C32 man, great powerplant and I love it's looks Are you still in High School?...What exactly does that power pulley you guys are talking about do and what are your hp gains?

Audi S4
Well the pulley for the 4 cyl C230 takes it from 192 to ~220-230 hp, so you can guess what it will do for a C32 that starts with 349 hp!

C230K Coupe/Orion/C4/C5/CD/AMG Spoiler/V60/TeleAid, 2 MGB's
hmmm...funny, I was looking into the A4...I just couldn't figure out what those extra 2 doors were for

The A4's a nice car...I like the appointments and it's features are very similar to MB....but when you option it out like an MB...the price is pretty damned close...but Auto Union Deutsche doesn't make a coupe in a US flavor. (check out the A3SWB)

Just as an aside I almost bought a c230K 6-speed...Test drove it and almost ordered one (freakin' loved the panoramic roof!!!), but I was a little worried others would say about the rear and that the tuning capabilies were limited. I really did love that car though, handled great and in my opinion looked great
If you guys had the C32 powerplant cooupled with the 6-speed
I would STILL like to run one though...; )

I really get irked when the discussion turns to Audi's are better than MB's because, or MB's are better than Audi's because...never fails, someone calls the Audi an overpriced VW, and then the fun starts. Uggh, give it a rest guys. You sound like the little girls over on the Honda/Acura forumns.

Audi A4 is a nice car. I drove several before eventually getting the C230K. If Audi made the A4 in coupe flavor, I might have considered the Audi more. And as far as the interior quality goes, the A4 is nice, but I'd hardly characterize the MB interiors as anything to be ashamed about...

Cheers.

BTW, the 2002 A4 is a totally differemt car, the sports packaged A4 out handles the previous generation S4 to give you an idea of the improvement on the car.
now now oustera4 u know the previous gen S4 susp. was crap (esp on a car about 200lb heavier than an A4) and we all made fun of the S4 owners trying to sell us their used susp. I personally pref the B5 platform over the B6 as it seems more 'compact' but the B6 is beautiful in its own right too. If they had A3 in US yes i woulda bought that instead of a C230 (granted price is same or cheaper). To stir further controversy i think best factory "sport" susp on the 3 german cars (audi/BMW/MB) has to be BMW....its tout (spl?) yet still comfortable and very very little body roll. LOVVVE the interior in Audi but exterior styling and sheer pimp factor goest to MB

a C32 with 6-speed won't likely be faster. the SpeedShift program shifts much faster than a normal human being can.

just check out this site http://www.jimmy540i.com

heck, even a 6-speed M5 stage I by Dinan can't beat this 540iA

Yea...I've seen that 540 before...It's freakin' tight. The new auto's are great, but nothing like the launch you can get with stick (especially since I have AWD). BTW what do you run in the quarter?

no freaking ideas...lol...never track the car. I'd say probably what MB stated on their websites. 13.7 or less.

and don't want to dyno it because i don't want to know if mine is the one that has 270 rwhp or the one that's running 290 rwhp. Evosport have dynoed many c32s and found that the rwhp range from 270 to 290. I'd be pissed if mine ran 270, but that'll give me some chance to laugh at my own car.

Thats weird that there's such a broad range in hp differences...I wonder what it's attributed to...13.7 is pretty good, although I heard some people talking about taking e46 m3's (about 12.9-13.1)...I bet your car really shines at 80 mph+

just let you know that there are people with stock C32s running 13.2 1/4 miles. I say 13.7 because i never track my car and never will. and people who run 13.7s are the one with 270 rwhp.

taking a M3 on the freeway is much easier than from a stop. I've done so a couple times. From a stop, it'll depends on the driver of the car.

earlier on someone said you only purchase a Benz because of the name, does that apply to the higher end cars?

There are very few cars out there that are in direct competition with the our SL500 in looks, preformence, and plain ol' straight pimping! lol

Lexus doens't offer a sports car.. SC430? try agian two seater next time! lol

Bimmer, z8.. no way, doesn't rank high in straight pimping.. lol
(i do admit tho, i love the looks!)

no american cars! dad hates them!

Of course an any auto can shift faster than a human, but the question is whether it can make up for the parasitic loss of the torque converter. I think a 6-speed C32 in the right hands could take a automatic C32.

In my case, I had very limited choice: SLK320, BMW-Z3 3.0i, Porsche Boxter and Audi TT. Now my g/f worked at Audi HQ in Ingolstadt, Germany for a long time before moving to the US with me. When I mentioned that I was thinking of buying an Audi she said "Don't".... "Just Don't". Not satisified, I asked her "why?". She said that within the last 4 years the number of internal memos about reliability was enormous... indeed they were regularly being called into meetings to address how they should deal with their dealers who were calling by the boatload to complain.

Anyway, the reason I chose the Benz? Vario-Roof. Show me an Audi that's got that and then we'll talk about innovation.
