Second, I doubt that a CL65 AMG could be shamed by any American car! You can ask auto engineers or stylists at a barbershop and even give them both away for free and the CL65 will not be "shamed."
Third, people tend to get upset at the words of someone who has an uneducated opinion and when he/she decides to express them publicly.
Americans cars have been learning, copying and studying the engineering, quality, styling and essence of European Cars for several decades. This FACT tells you which manufacturer has SHAMED the other!

That still is not enough to "shame" Mercedes, and the brand they have created, which is what Caddy and GM wish they had.
That being said, in my college days I had a 1994 Civic Si with a B18C DOHC VTEC engine, and was squeezing 120-shot pf NOS, Direct-Port with a Centerforce Clutch and LSD and that was faster than the CTS-V Any Day.
DOES THAT MEAN MY LOWLY CIVIC "SHAMED" THE CTS-V?

Isn't the 5.4L V8 block getting relatively old now?
I thought the Caddy is a new car with new engine.
If Benz are putting the new-tech stuff (found in new SLK), into the their NA AMG engines, it should be outputting a lot more I'd say.
