The test car & driver did, they could not match the performance the factory claimed,they did several runs and i think the best they could do was 5.2,they said the factory techs who tested it must have some special way to hook it up, and get those figures,which means most drivers will not be able to duplicate those figures,but if drive mbs you can easily do the the 0-60 speeds the factory claims, again this is because its engineered right, and you don't have to be dale earnhart to drive it, which all goes to back to perfect engineering that the germans are famed for, i'm all for usa built cars, but at the moment they do not compare

The bottom line I believe is that this car will definitely not put our cars to shame because....jus look at it!~! That says it all. Yeah it's fast, but the quality isn't there.

First of all bob,
I smoked cadillac STS before in my 97 e420 sport.
Secondly, 3 weeks ago I just smoked a CTS-V very badly from stop with cl55. He got jumped on me around 0.5 car length. And again, Before even my car shifted to 2nd, he was already behind like 1.5 car length, i believed. He tried, tried and tried, same results. Last one, he was behind me and tailgating me and here come the stop light. So, this time I do not need to push the throttle gently for smooth start. I just floor the pedal to the metal, and yeeehaaaaaaaa, hear and see my smoking butt, and I was off to the freeway entrance leaving him like he was moving backwards. Now who is ashamed?
And if you comparing the price of the cl55 and the cts-v, it might be not fair, okay, the e55 is a fair competitor and it will smoked the cts-v even more for sure, no sweat.
And for ford gt40, haha, forget it, i would not spend 100k+ driving a ford. If you go to some party and someone asked you: "what car are you driving?"
and you will be ashamed if you answer: "er....A FORD?".
In the other hand: "a Benz..." would be a better answer.
Don't you get it?
