How fast are corolla XRS'?
I drive a 6speed C230 Kompressor Coupe.
Do I have any chance against a 6speed Corolla XRS? Anybody raced/drove one before and want to give me opinions?
TIA

2005 C230 Sedan 6spd
I never drove one, but it should be as fast as a Celica GT-S 6spd. Since they share the same engine and transmission and weight about the same.
on a stop we should take them, but after 60MPH they have the weight advantage and they have a pretty high revving engine. Why don't you race one and find out?

You should beat one from a stop and a roll. Get a good launch and its over for them. Especially on top end since our Mercedes gearing gets really nice after around 75-80.

Yes you feather the clutch alittle off the line, if you simply drop it then there is a possiblity of dropping your tranny after to many launches. Also your clutch could start slipping and thats never fun. Also i would say if you can try and race him slightly uphill since he has less torque than you.

you can beat it for sure.
corolla is much slower than celica due to its heavier weight, worse drag and -10hp.
even a celica, you will have close run, 80% the celica might win on the 0-60, but on the highway, u re the king with your torque and gear ratio advantage the 3-4 gear on your car is fast!

So did you win???? I hope so. I dusted a Corolla and a Lancer that were racing each other a last month in our E320. Poor guys didnt even have a chance, i had time to catch them match their speed the corolla tried to put up a fight i dusted him quickly and pass them in abouit a 3-4 mile road.
