Ok so here's my first kill. The same day I got the car, well that night, I went to show it to my buddy. We were at the gas station to see the car's color under the light when we both heard a loud blow off valve. Looking back out on the road we see a red Mitsu Evo. MY buddy tells me to go catch him and race him. I say nah.....then ok, I get in the car and give chase. Finally the guy pulls up to his gf's house and we chat. Turns out we both know the same people so that's cool.

Me: That's a nice EVO! MR right? Cool....wanna do a couple runs on the freeway, I wanna see how fast this thing is, this is sweet!!!
Him: Sure. What's this?
Me: Ah, just a grandma Mercedes, nothing special, it's a slow *** POS. But you got a sweet ride damn! Ok let's go.

We get to the freeway....25mph rolling start... he does some funky handsign and takes off. I'm about 1/2 a car length behind and still chilling when I realized that oops we going for it. I punch it and he's not moving on me and we shut down around 90 or so b/c of the false start.

Then we do another run....20mph or so...We take off, side by side, the entire time I'm slowly creeping ahead, then by 95mph, I'm ahead by the hood, past 100+ it's over for him, he sees my rear badges. I pass him. We shut down at about 125-130, two small runs, he doesn't get away ahead but i do

We pull over to talk, and he's just dumbfounded that he couldnt take on a big body benz. I explain to him that it's an E55. We say goodnight and that's it

Nice Kill Doc! I've got to give credit to the MR though for hangin' with an E55 for a little bit!

Car&Driver (their TV series) had a comparo on the MR and the STi and although they didn't give specific #'s, they said the MR was faster than the STi in 0-60mph but a shade slower to the 1/4 (or it was the other way around? - I'm pretty sure it was slower in the 1/4). This was the '05 of course which the MR beat out the STi overall in the comparo btw. Anyone know specific times for the MR?

the difference between the the MR and the regular EVO is that the MR has a 6spd trannie, stiffer suspension setups lighter wheels... everything else should be the same
its 276hp and 286lb torque from the engine. about 220hp on all wheel dyno w/ 91 octane gas... but with basic mod such as boost controller, ect can get up to 250-280wheel hp easy...
"The MR hit 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. ,1/4 miles is 13.6 @104mph" (Car and Driver Feb.2005).
"0-60 4.3 seconds, 1/4 miles 12.9@107.6" (Road and Track Jan. 2005)
"0-60 4.7 seconds, 1/4 miles 13.3@102.2" (Motor Trend Oct. 2004)
so you get the ideas...

Wow...that's quite a difference that R&T got! It seems MotorTrend is usually generous with their times but R&T must have launched downhill! lol! - although, honestly, I felt the MR would have times closer to R&T results.

anyone see the feb 2005 issue of car and driver when they compared the evo MR to the STI and got a 1/4 mile time of 13.6 for the evo MR? that just SUCKS for the MR.

Like you said,MAY.It depends on what mods are done to the EVO. They do have low 11 second EVo's all over the place!Quite a bit of high 10 sec EVO's as well.
