Mine clocked 90K this weekend..

I would love to see that 250K tick on my odometer one day...have no plans of selling it for atleast another decade...

Still love it as much as I loved it the first day...I drove it off the showroom...almost 6 years back...

Nothing major yet...except the CATs that were replaced under warranty...

Don't want to jinx myself, but NO major work done....

Still original engine/transmission/AC compressor/alternator/power steering pump/cats/water pump/original coils/plug wires ....even still has the original harmonic balancer ! It has been checked out but shows no signs of failure.

I am meticulous regarding care and upkeep.....Mobil One 0W40 every 10,000 miles with fleece filter. Brake fluid and antifreeze changed every two years and transmission fluid changed every 100,000 miles.

Other than that, I changed out front/rear shock assemblies and changed plugs every 100,000 miles......Thats it and she burns maybe a quart of oil every 5,000 miles. Runs like a champ !!!

Only things that don't work are #1 fan speed and overhead console light...

I knew MBenz built the older models to run forever, but I never thought an ML would run 250K. Kudos to you and many more.

Thumbs up

wow!! Impressive mileage. If you don't mind me asking, how far do you commute per day? I think I just ran into your post on going 200k miles a few weeks back and now you're on 250k. lmao!

I agree with you on being meticulous on cars. That's the key of getting them running without running into major issues!

The 250,000 km badge will hopefully be replaced in a couple of years with a 500,000 km badge (312,000 miles) !

Ok, I'm confused. Is it 250,000km or 250,000 miles on you car?

Not exactly sure what your question is

The awards are actually FREE and mailed to your home in a very nice
presentation box with the badge, a certificate (of course, suitable for framing)and some other info. All you need to do is take your MB by a dealership, have them verify mileage and then send in the request. Hope that answers your question.

oh.. that's it? No other incentives like a complimentary SLR test drive at Laguna Seca or even a paddock pass and hang out with Kimi, Juan Pablo and the Mercedes F1 team at Indy? booooo!

Just kidding man. Great stuff though on your accomplishment. Mercedes rocks and you truely took it to another level.

Thanks for the support and.... Yes, I know...WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' BADGES !!

Seriously, just the fact that so many frequent this forum and others (we won't mention any names), shows that we are ML Enthusiasts and want to get the most out of them. That, plus the fact that the ML's have depreciated so badly, push us all to drive our ML's till the wheels actually DO fall off !

I feel extremely fortunate to have had my ML for so long with minimal problems. I keep hoping one of the Atlanta dealers will want to 'buy' back my vehicle, put it in their showroom to show potential buyers the ML longevity and set me up in a new ML........yeah.......right !!!!!!!!

Actually I don't particularly care for the new 164....but the G-Wagon replacement looks interesting ........!!

I don't get it. 250,000 MILES is a lot. But 250k/155,000 miles does not seem like a lot at all. I mean, yes, it's a lot of miles, but what's the big deal? I believe every car will last until those miles.

168 K miles and going strong.

Hi everybody,

My ML 430 1999 has logged 168 K miles and still running well. I had quite a few problems with it though. AC compressor changed twice, transmission changed at 95 K miles (!), airflow sensor changed today for $ 700 and a few other interesting surprises along the way... Oil consumption is also 1 quart every 5 000 miles. I would advise to change oil every 7 000 miles. The factory spacing of oil changes is totally irresponsible. You just have to look at the color of the oil to understand that it needs to be changed more frequently.
In most countries, there are not enough dealerships compared to the number of cars sold. I suspect they space out the servicings to alleviate the burden on their shops.
Moving back to France in 2 weeks after 17 years in the US, I give My ML to my son. He lives in Utah. We are going to drive it from NJ to UT. 2200 miles in 3 days. I hope we make it without trouble !
My car in France is a CLS. I got it 2 months ago and drove it for 4 days only. Can't wait to get back behind the wheel ! Something quite different, believe me !
The ML was great. Very versatile. Never failed in the snow. Pulled a horse trailer with it...
I may have to send subsidies to my son when he has to change some parts !
