ML 430 dies at idle wont start for 20 min

I have a 99 ML 430 that has begun dying during a lifted throttle when warm. It will not start again for about 20 minutes. There is no indication that it has a problem. It is running fine and then just dies. So far it has never died while under a load. It always quits after you come to a stop and are idleing.
Any Ideas?
Thanks, Dave

How many miles do you have? Is your check engine light on? Have the codes run. Its probably your MAF - mass air flow sensor.

Could be a failing CPS (crank position sensor). If you haven't changed the original one yet, thats probably the problem. Its a common problem that leaves no codes. My 2 cents.

ml320 & c240
Agree with azinn. It happened to me and I went ahead and change my cps. and that fixed the problem. It's the cheapest way to go and if that is not the problem you still eleminate that from happening in the future. Good Luck.

It has just over 100.000 miles. It has no codes this time. It did have a MAF code previously and I replaced the MAF and cleared the code. But the problem still exists. I will order and replace the crank sensor next. As you say, it needs to be replaced at this time anyway. Thanks for your help.
