HI ALL!! Can MAF sensor in ML430 be cleaned instead of replaced?
connector on it. That connector is plugged into the MAF. Unplug it and remove the 2 screws.
Then gently pull the MAF sensor out.
There are many opinions on cleaning them. Some have had great luck others not so great.
Seeing as the just that little part can be purchased as a Bosch part for a lot less than the
dealer price (which includes a new round plastic tube) I would just replace it if it were my
ML 430.
Did you get a code that indicated the MAF is shot or are you trying to prevent failure or
prolong the life of the MAF sensor?
IMO I would just leave it if it is not acting up and replace it when it does.
Run it by Advance or Autozone and they will be able to pull codes for that part of the system.
If I recall a P0170 and P0173 code can indicate a MAF issue.
I am assuming that you have changed the air filter to a clean one. Also that if an oil
change was done that you are using Mobil One 0w40. It is one of the few oils approved
for theses engines.

indicator is much different than the W163.
This was not in response to your MAF problem.
Not even sure why he posted a service reset question in this thread or this forum.
