Question M-B Video Entertainment System

Wondering if anyone has installed the M-B entertainment system in their ML; happy with the results? What was the total cost with labor?

Jeez, you opening your own mini-multiplex theater? What's playing in the back seat? Anything good? Nice set-up, I'd get distracted though.

How is your rear monitor installed? Do you have a more detail picture of it. I like to install on in the rear for my kids for the long trips. Thanks.

I just finished putting one in my MY02 this past wekend. It's a blast. Takes about a whole day to do but if you have any mechanical abilities at all, it's a snap. Bought the set from Potomac German Auto with the MY02+ upgrade. Comes with two headphones and everything requierd to install successfully. Need more information, e-mail me.

Awaiting a new arrival...
I also just installed this in my 2001 ML320 and the install is time-consuming, but not too difficult. There are minor parts that are frustrating, like the grab handles and A pillar, but overall, it is a pretty straightforward install.

I installed the vcp and dvd in mine and am very pleased. Granted I didn't pay as little as the Potomac deal, but with the price of the two items combined I did great!

Yes, the vcp mounts under the driver-side rear seat and the dvd mounts under the center seat. The vcp has a quick release to remove for seat foldup. In my nearly 2 years of owning the ML, I've folded the seats down a grand total of 0 times. For me, its not a big deal.

slcvr6, congrats on your install. I was out on vacation with the Ml and had a chance to really work the VCP with my 3 kids. I noticed that with the VCP on, the SCAN radio function doesn't work right - I have to shut it off to scan properly. I'm not sure if it does same with the headphones plugged in though. The second problem I have is that the headphone (not wireless) audio comes out on one side as if they were tuned to mono. I don't have any idea why. Please let me know if you have same problems. Thanks.

I'll give both tasks a try tonight and let you know what happens. My daughter is only 2, so no need for headphones yet. She is so thrilled to have the video now that my wife does not mind listening to The Wiggles, Baby Neptune or Kipper the Dog.

I am so glad I did this install, it really makes me love the ML that much more.

I need to shoot some photos of the install and the way it currently looks, hail damaged and all.

Did you get a chance to try it? Also, did you receive the package?

I've been slammed with work, but did get it tested.

Scanning - Does not work proper;y, goes through 1 full cycle before it picks up the strongest station locally. I can tune to stations I know work fine with the presets and they work perfectly, so it is something going on with how the fm modulator works.

Headphones - Tested 1 jack, but it works perfectly in stereo.

Yes, I just checked and found a small package! Thanks!!!

Work has been 24x7 for a week here cleaning up an IT problem, not much time to surf/email.
