AIRBAG QUESTION
Hi guys,i got a question. Is steering wheel airbag in ML55 is the same as in any other W163 or different? I installed it from Ml500 but looks like it got bigger space between steering wheel. Maybe it didn't go in right but screws went it pretty good.
And would Airbag module from 2002 ML500 would work on 2001 Ml55? Ml55 doesn't have A pillars airbags , 02 does have them.
Car was in the accident, trying to see if parts will work from Ml500 to Ml55 Thanks

If you were wearing your seat belt during the accident, then you might have additional problems with the seat belts.,

Modules are vin# specific, so you will not be able to use it. But if you were in an accident, and the driver's air bag deployed, the Air Bag Module is programmed to log 3 deployments. So just install the new air bag and clear the codes in the Air Bag Module.

Igor, you cannot use another module in the existing veh. you are referring to. So if you replaced a driver's air bag, you clear the codes in the module of that veh.

steering airbag not fitting right. Took it off inspect everything real good, found a problem! The horn bracket, or whatever you call it, the metal that is on 3 springs was bent from airbag blowing up. Got that
As you recommended, i installed the old airbag module, thank God i didnt trow it out. Scanned the system, got a code B1869 for the ignition circuit with component R12/11 (left rear side airbag ignition squib) is faulty
So i guess i need to replace Left rear airbag? I do have one from my parts car.
Thank you for your help and thank you that you told me to put original Module back.

First sigh was i could not fill up the refrigerant to the ac system, when i turn on the fan and ac on, the auxiliary fan turns on with ac compressor for id say 10 to 20 sec and then shuts off.
fuse 44 is fine and relay is good, new thermostat installed. Auxiliary fan is good, because i hooked up another one i have and it does the same thing.
I will check the fuse on the battery tomorrow.
On Auxiliary fan there is positive, ground and white and blue wires. I assume that one of them is ac control and one of them is coolant control. where do them 2 wires go to??? maybe i can check for continuity??? maybe wire is broken some place? or do you have any other suggestions??? Thank you

First of all, why didn't you tell us in your original post that the ML was in a front end accident?
Secondly, you do not have an auxiliary fan, you have one large suction fan and fuse #44 does not apply to your truck.
Thirdly, if you have four wires RED, BRN, WHITE & BLUE, that applies to a 2002+ ML55, please post your vin#.
RED wire is from the fuse on the battery
BROWN is ground.
WHITE is signal from ECU
BLUE is from fuse #22

My car is 2001 55 and it does have big Suction Fan vin# is 4JGAB74E71A229618
I think fuse on the Battery is good because fan wouldn't turn on on AC at all right?
Why do you think i cant charge refrigerant and the fan doesn't turn on when it gets to the certain temperature? Maybe temperature sensor is bad? but Gage show good on the cluster. what else should i look for? please help

Igor, you are thinking about the wrong concerns. Your main concern should be getting a used or new fan because you are over heating. If you continue to drive the truck, your engine and transmission are at risk.

What i am saying is, it cant be bad fan, because i have 2 of them, have one from another ML500 that i hooked up and its doing same thing, turns on when i turn blower up and press ac button, for about 10 seconds and then shuts off. Can it be that i have 2 fans that are bad? so how come it works on AC???
Is there a way to check the Fan itself?
I am thinking something doesn't let the fan know to turn on when it gets to the temperature that it need to turn on.

Just checked that #6 to the white on suction continuity is good. I dont know what to do now. should i replace coolant temperature sensor or ac sensor? what can cause that?? I am lost here. Is there a way to bench test the Suction fan? Thanks for all ur help i would never find that #6 i was hunting white wires. You are very helpful, God bless you sir!!!
