Why is this forum so lame?!

There is interesting stuff posted here that gets minimal feedback. This post of mine https://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w164/101087-big-photos-7-mls-2-lexi-sunrise.html , which had new photos of the dealer training vehicles, and the first I know of of the bumper guard and trailer hitch, after 411 views gets 2 replies!!! And this new one has 46 views and 0 responses https://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w164/101774-autocar-suv-comparsion-test-scans.html.

That's lame. I don't mean to say only my stuff is interesting, but you people need to respond to what is posted! If there isn't better fedback here, I'll go elsewhere. Sorry for the rant.

Greg,
I am sorry you feel that way but the W164 forum is pretty new and a lot of people probably havent seen it yet. I would hate to see you leave as I always enjoy reading your posts... especially the one where you caught those new MLs at the airport hotel.

Regards,
Ali

Al, well I probably overreacted. My point is many posts get a lot of views but people don't bother to comment. Compared to the same or similar posts on other forums which have a much higher response rating. It's feedback and discussion that make these worthwhile.

Here are the figures for the post you reference:

MBWorld - 437 views/2 replies = 0.5% response rate
BenzWorld - 1,272/18 = 1.4%
GermanCarFans - 888/25 = 2.8%
Roadfly - 473/5 = 1,1%

I think that part of the problem is that many of us frequent several of these forums. Personally speaking, I am unlikely to respond to the same topic on more than one forum. I would tend to chip in on the first forum that I noticed the post.

I dont frequent this particular forum much, but your post title drew me in. My guess is that it will pick up more once people start owning and modifying these cars.

Don't believe its lame. Your posts are appreciated. I feel that there are only a few of us who have committed to a W164 and that combined with the fact that its a new forum speaks for the lack of response. The quality of the posts and responses on this forum I believe is far superior to the other. Other seems to have lots of kids who have an interest and no knowledge or means to purchase. We have a few of those children here but no where near as many as the other.

Good point about the quality of posts. I know some forums get a lot of juvenile activity--not that I have anything about kids being interested in cars, but it doesn't tend to enrich the dialogue exchange.

Yes, I agree. However the "other" forum is much worse in this regard and there are also lots of "pretend" owners that say they own a vehicle but in reality its their parents and they do not have a clue. There are also some that change their screen names and are really arrogant. One example of this is ahopeter aka pointman. He must be all of 14 years old with the arrogance of a 60 yr old and the knowledge od a 8 yr old. Has the answer for everything and then asks really stupid questions.

Al,
Why are cross links to images stored on other forums blocked here? The truth is many of us participate in other forums besides this one, and to block importing content from them seems a little big-brotherish.
