Want to Change bulbs

Hey guys.

This past weekend I was at my friend's house, and was checking out his GS300. And noticed that he had changed the bulbs on it, now they look very close to HIDs but they arent. This gave me the idea of changing my bulbs on the ML. But I having trouble finding what the size is, and which brand to chose. Because I do want the HID look, without the loss in vision. So i would appreciate it, if anyone can appoint me the size and what brand to go with.

Did you look in your manual for bulb types? They're on p. 443 of mine. There are many different brands and color temperatures of aftermarket bulbs. If you want to look like HIDs (Xenons) you want a cooler color temperature (higher Kelvin temperature) than the halogens Stock are around 4,200 degrees K, compared to 3,200 for halogen. You can get others up to 5,000 or more, but they do nothing for performance and look a little "ricey" to me.

Try Hoen Hoen Lighting. Their Xenonmatch Titanium lamps are very close to stock HID color. I used them in my fogs and flasher beams to match my HIDs.

Try these bulbs. My brother has them on his CRX and they look very close to HID. They will look better on your Benz since you already have projector lights.

http://www.luminicsbulbs.com/

He has Titanium Lights for Low Beam and JDM Yellow for highbeam (i'm thinking of getting JDM Yellow lights for the fogs, will post pictures and feedbacks once i get them)

I would suggest to stay with White (titanium or hyper white)

Good luck! let us know how they look on your benz.

Hi
I would like to change the bulbs on my ML as I don't have xenonlights. Does anyone have pictures of their ML with the changed bulbs? I recall that I saw such a post a while ago. Any help would be great.

My 2006 Lexus IS 250 had stock 55W halogens. I converted it to 6000K HIDs (lowbeams) and 4750K halogen bulbs (fogs). Installed it myself. It looks awsome.

I'm thinking of converting my non HID w164 to 6000K. I'm looking at Phillips conversion kit.

wow looks nice

I've just changed my bulbs with some no-name halogen 100W with 6000k (according to manufacturer) xenon look-a-like bulbs. They look great and the car lights up the road even better now. I'll post some pictures later.

Here they are. I think its a good result. Next step is lowering springs and Kleemann chip-tuning

Hi AR. Shah, do you have an airmatic suspension? Your bulbs are awesome! I am not sure about mine, since I have bi-xenons.

Hi GMBALL,
I don't have the airmatic and I'm also looking forward to the Kleemann powerchip. I have it on my E220 CDI and a few days ago I made my younger brother drive it and race against me in the ML. Believe me both cars were equally fast in acceleration and speed over five rounds. I was a bit dissapointed with the ML (V6 224hp,0-100km/h 8.4sec against E220 CDI R4 standard 150hp and with Kleemann 192hp) so now a powerchip is a must

Wow! Thats very interesting! Maybe I should slap one to my ML too. I would die if some 220CDI beats me

Yep believe me it was frightning too see that both cars were equally fast at speeds up to 170-180km/h. The Kleemann KD powerchip should sort out that problem easily, I hope. Fuel effiency and throttle response should also improve, as it does on my E220 CDI and its like driving a completely different car
