Gee you're very angry.
Of course it makes sense. The ML only comes with the 320CDI engine in the UK at the moment as the 420CDI is so far only available on the GL. I was asking if anyone knew if they had plans to fit the V8 diesel too the ML. You do not so don't bother posting, pal.

Ricky...
I would be interested in buying an ML if it came with the V8 diesel and was wondering if there were any plans to make one. The main point of this forum is so that people can gain information about Mercedes vehicles. There was, and still is, no point to a certain member's uneducated and inflammatory intervention in this matter. My sympathies are with you for having to try and control such behavior.
By the way, good luck with the car search. I Still think an E39 M5 is the way to go.

06 ML 350 in Europe & 12 GL 350 Avantgarde in Canada
Checking the German and Swiss MB websites and downloading the pricelists there is indeed a ML 420 CDI (...probably available last quarter 2006...).
Price approx same as ML 500.
Power exactly as ML 500 but torque 700 Nm/2000 rpm instead of 460/2700 for the ML 500.
Fuel consumption 11.1 l/100 Km instead of 13.4 for the ML 500.
Hope this helps

2007 ML350 w/ full AMG package
Has anyone noticed the difference with the 5 liter (petrol) engines used in the ML and GL's?
225 KW's for the ML500 and 285 for the GL500. Mmm, doesn't sound very fair as they are the same engines... thats like a 65HP increase for the GL!
Just an observation.

Correct, the GL500 in Europe uses the new 5.5L V8, but they kept the "500" name. Here in the U.S. everything with the new 5.5L V8 is a "550". The ML500, R500 and G500 all use the old 5L V8 from the W220 S-Class and all other 2006 "500" MB models. Why they haven't made the G/ML/R "550" models yet is beyond me. I certainly wouldn't buy a ML500 right now, because you know the new engine is coming sooner or later. I don't think we'll get the V8 diesel here in the U.S. unless ML320 CDI sales really take off.
