ML+CDI=

This is the most patriotic SUV on the market if I am not mistaken. American made, and it helps to reduce the dependecy on foreign oil.

Does MBUSA say that you can or cannot use Biodiesel?

What type of mileage on the hwy and city are you seeing?

B5 is approved. Not a lot of Bio, but better than nothing.

Made in Sweet Home Alabama.

Congrats on the new ML!!!

Yes, please post some actual MPG results when you can.

2007 ML320 CDI
We picked up my wife's ML320 CDI today. It is black on black, with PO2, leather, heated seats, parktronic, lighting, and trailer hitch. Looking forward to reporting on it in a couple of days, including the mileage. Last weekend's Post had an article by their automotive writer stating that he got 31 MPGs. It probably won't be available online for long.

Looks like you have to live in a red state to have freedom of choice to buy what you want

You'll have to wait until 2008 and maybe you'll get it :-)
Supposedly, 50 states will be able to get the new deer pee (aka, BlueTec) CDI. The question is which 2 states won't? I know Kalifornia will be one because they've also been ****-retentive about what they think is "green". The only question is who else is that absurd. My guess is either the PRofMA or NJ....

If 50 states will be able to get the urea (btw, it's part of your pee, too) additive BlueTec system, how can 2 states not get it? There are only 50 states in the USA.

This is a kenyee programming error. I corrected him already once, years ago.

From the M-Class Mailing list:

So who are the unlucky 2 states? CA and MA? :-P

Don't beat yourself up TOO much . . . you were probably counting the state of Confusion and the state of Depression.

I've been there almost 5 years now.

And those are the two states I live in. I live in Confusion and shop in Depression because the taxes are lower.

We ordered with Premium 3, AMG Package, Parktronic (MBUSA website says its not available with AMG, but ours is equipped with both), Rear-seat entertainment (Not as nice as I had hoped, but I have had issues with aftermarket installs...), heated seats and some other small stuff I can't remember.

I haven't romped on it (going to follow recommended break-in), but the torque advantage over other SUV's is clearly apparent.
Pics to follow shortly.
Hi Medeci78,

Good choice. I am exactly in the same position - have a Touareg 2004 - and want to get the ML320 CDI. Did the Mercedes dealer took your Touareg as part of the deal? If yes, would you mind giving me an idea how much they valued it?
By the way, lousy experience with the Touareg and also VW of America... Don't want to have anything to do with these guys ever again!

Thanks

Miguel

I didn't get much for the Touareg. It was a 2004 V8 and had 39k miles. They gave me $21500 on trade in. With the tax incentive it works out to about $23k if I had sold it myself. I figure I could have sold it for $25k or so, but you can't give a Touareg away nowadays so I took the hit. It had the absolute worst A/C of any vehicle I've ever owned, even after 4 trips to the dealer there was never any appreciable improvement. The $2k I lost was better than dealing with tirekickers not to mention I would have felt guilty selling such a POS to someone. It's sad. The Touareg is actually a nice solid vehicle, but the electical and A/C components are crap.
The ML is a much better vehicle overall. It doesn't have the outright acceleration the Touareg had, but it has better torque that gives a more relaxed response, unlike the T-Reg where you have to rev it higher and deal with the terrible drive-by-wire hesitation/jerkiness.

'03 G500, '13 G63, '17 GLS63,
I'm in Germany right now, and quite a few of the ML's I've seen have the 4Matic badging. I guess its not just a USA thing.

bone stock E55 AMG
"ML 320 CDI" badge is too long/wide...
i'd take out '4matic' and move 'CDI' to the right... just like the other pic...

All the new model year MLs have ML320 CDI badge on the left and 4MATIC badge on the right. It is hard to understand why MB decided to change the badging because it looks very very crowded on the back. It also does not make sense as all MLs are 4MATIC, so there nothing to differentiate

Question about the ML320 CDI

I've heard that MB was going to offer the ML320 CDI with a "two-speed transfer case as part of an off-road package that also includes locks for the center and rear differentials."

Is this available now? If not, anyone know when it will be?

Thanks!

They are available under "Off-Road Package" since the entry to the market for all models but maybe it's different for the US.
